∎ Terre des Hommes Netherlands is registered as an INGO with the Government of Bangladesh. Bangladesh Country Office of Terre des Hommes announces its vacancy for the position of Research and Knowledge Management Specialist - IMAGE Plus.
∎ IMAGE Plus, a project of Terre des Hommes Netherlands, funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, is focused on the rights and empowerment of Early Married Girls in the context of SRHR & Gender in Bangladesh. The project is being implemented in partnership with three development organisations and one media and communications organisation. Image Plus targets to empower 9000 early married girls in northern Bangladesh by providing access to knowledge and skills on SRHR, Maternal Child Health, Gender Based Violence, Education and Income Generating Activities (Livelihoods). The project targets and actors are early married girls, adolescents, husbands of the early married girls, in-laws, Civil Society Organisations, media and Government.
∎ Objectives:
∎ The main objective of this position is for the successful implementation of the project IMAGE Plus, complying with the policies and guidelines of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Government of Bangladesh and Terre des Hommes Netherlands.
∎ General Characteristics:
∎ To achieve the goal, objectives and outcomes of the project IMAGE Plus, the Research and Knowledge Management Specialist will ensure the conduction of planned research, studies and evaluations on time with quality. Analysis of the facts and figures, generating reports for internal and external audiences and representing the project with presentation in different forms will be among the key responsibilities.
∎ Location: This is a national position, open for Bangladeshi nationals, and will be based in Dhaka with frequent travel to the field in the northern districts of Bangladesh.
∎ Position in the organisation: The Research and Knowledge Management Specialist will report to the Project Director, IMAGE Plus.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Result Areas:
∎ Result 1: Coordinate organizational policy
∎ Organizational policy is coordinated in such a way that objectives have been achieved.
∎ Develop objectives and design research projects and proposals.
∎ Ensure proper coordination and provide strategic guidance to complete the research activities of IMAGE Plus partners
∎ Support the partners for recording and reporting as required by the donor, government and TdH Netherlands.
∎ Contribute to create impact through technical support, tracking project progress and support advocacy activities.
∎ Analyse and Share findings with the organisation at different levels, such as workplace, organisational report, organisational presentations for regional and Head Office
∎ Identify issues for future project development
∎ Contribute in organizational development including developing concept note and proposal
∎ Developing and following standard operating procedures, and adhering to organisational policies and guidelines.
∎ Result 2: Maintaining contacts
∎ Relevant internal and external contacts have been maintained.
∎ Represent the organisation in different workshops and seminars.
∎ Communicate and coordinate with project partners to ensure the effective performance of the project activities.
∎ Result 3: Improve workflows
∎ Work processes have been improved in such a way that the quality of service remains secure and employees are sustainably able to achieve the goals.
∎ Coordinate Research activities (e.g. Research, Studies, Mid Term Review and Endline Evaluation) that includes
∎ Identify issues consulting with the team, partners and document review
∎ Develop ToR
∎ Responsible for the budget relating to research & knowledge management
∎ In case of research conducted by external resources, coordinate the consultant recruitment process
∎ In case of research conducted by internal resources, coordinate the research team including recruitment of enumerators, field data collectors and data analyst
∎ Guiding, training, and advising the research team
∎ Conduct follow up on research method and plan; and propose techniques to improve research quality and team productivity.
∎ Coordinate data collection and analysis process
∎ Contribute to and write a research report
∎ Conduct the Knowledge Management Activities:
∎ Contributing to and writing research findings for publications, papers, presentations, grants, and other documents.
∎ Contribute in Progress Report and Donor Result Report
∎ Prepare knowledge products (Position paper, Factsheets, Writings for Workplace, Summary of Research Findings, Abstracts, etc.) and disseminate project/research findings
∎ Coordinate with Project Management Unit, Partners and Senior Management :
∎ Share the research progress findings, identify issues for further initiatives, challenges and ways forward with the PMU and the senior management.
∎ Give inputs in developing project documents, such as, communications and training materials, reports and presentations etc.
∎ Provide feedback on partners' reports from the field, and contribute with analysis in compiling the reports for the Netherlands Embassy, Government of Bangladesh and Terre des Hommes Netherlands.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 5 years of working experience in Research and Knowledge management including knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices, techniques and methods in the relevant field of SRHR, Gender, Education and Livelihood opportunities for women
∎ At least a Master's-level degree in Anthropology/Social Science/Public Health/Gender Studies or a relevant discipline
∎ Proven experience of development research and technical know-how of different research methodologies with strong analytical capacity. Understanding on Right-based development approach.
∎ Experience in advocacy, research and communications including technology (web, social media) based communications and networking
∎ Excellent writing skills with a proven ability to write with clarity and succinctness,
∎ Proven track record in fostering effective working relationships with stakeholders at various levels with strong interpersonal and communications skills
∎ Knowledge and prior work experience in Child Marriage, Child Rights, SRHR, Gender, Women Rights or Women's Economic Empowerment projects is preferable.
∎ Additional experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable:
∎ Child Marriage, Child rights and Women Rights.
∎ SRHR including Maternal and Child Health (MCH) and Reproductive Health.
∎ Gender and Development; and Gender Based Violence.
∎ Education and livelihood development for the women and adolescents.
∎ Project Development
