Responsibilities & Context:

BRAC is an international development organisation founded in Bangladesh in 1972 that partners globally with over 100 million people living with inequality and poverty to create opportunities to realise their potential.

To promote community mobilization, employment creation, and income generation opportunities for Rohingya women through weaving training, endi fabric production, product marketing, and provision of necessary logistical support.

  • Lead the planning, organization, and implementation of weaving training programs and oversee all weaving and fabric production activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations

  • Ensure adequate training facilities, availability of training materials, and timely distribution of charkas to Rohingya women upon successful completion of training programs

  • Manage and monitor the supply of cotton/silk warp yarn, endi lachi, and all yarn processing activities including warping, degumming, shana-boa, joron, and latai-noli to ensure uninterrupted endi fabric production

  • Maintain accurate loom- and weaver-wise documentation of raw material distribution, utilization, stock management, and production records in compliance with organizational procedures

  • Ensure strict quality control of endi fabrics, including grading, preservation, storage, and compliance with required production and quality standards

  • Ensure timely preparation, verification, and disbursement of weekly wages for weavers and related personnel while maintaining proper payment documentation

  • Prepare production reports, maintain proper documentation, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of washing, dyeing, mercerizing, transportation, and other processing activities

  • Organize and facilitate regular weekly and monthly refresher training sessions to strengthen the technical skills, productivity, and efficiency of weavers

  • Maintain effective communication and coordination with BRAC Sericulture Enterprise, Aarong Quality Team, and other stakeholders to support fabric marketing, sales, quality assurance, costing, requisition, QC completion, and billing processes

  • Promote awareness on gender equality, protection, and safeguarding issues, and ensure full compliance with organizational safeguarding policies, code of conduct, and workplace safety standards

Safeguarding:

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so
