Experience:
Master’s degree in Economics/ Agriculture/ Development Studies /Fisheries/Urban Planning/ Agri Economics/ Agri Business/ MBA or equivalent from any recognized University.
At least 5 years of experience in project management, staff supervision, stakeholder coordination and reporting.·

Sound knowledge on using different software related to data entry.
Ability to work hard, work under pressure, positive and can-do attitude and ability to understand local language.
Self-motivated, independent of the ability to perform multi-task.

Knowledge in gender focused approach to development and resilience.· Proven understanding and knowledge on development sector including work related to program and budget planning/monitoring activities.

Context :
Mukti Cox’s Bazar, with technical support from FAO, is implementing the EU-funded PROACT Bangladesh project titled “Promoting Nutrition-Sensitive Farming, Toxin-Free Dried Fish Production, and Strengthening Market Access and Value Chains” in Cox’s Bazar Sadar, Ramu, Ukhiya, and Teknaf. The initiative aims to improve food security, nutrition, and income through climate-smart agriculture, toxin-free dried fish processing, and homestead gardening. It will establish aggregation centers to boost market access and provide business and financial literacy training to empower smallholder farmers, especially women. With 30+ years of experience and 3,028 staff, Mukti ensures inclusive, resilient, and impactful programming aligned with FAO’s strategic goals.
Purpose of job:
The Project Officer is responsible for coordinating and supporting the implementation of project activities to ensure timely, efficient, and high-quality delivery of results. This role serves as a key link between field operations, stakeholders, and management—overseeing planning, execution, and reporting of interventions such as training, enterprise development, and promotional campaigns. The officer ensures alignment with project goals, facilitates collaboration with partners like the Department of Fisheries and FAO, and contributes to monitoring, documentation, and problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle.
Job Responsibilities
Assist to Implementation of project activities at the targeted areas following project proposal and guidance of FAO & Mukti Cox’s Bazar management to achieve the project objectives.
Select and arrange training venues, confirm participants’ attendance, arrange logistics and provide on-site support as required for the smooth conduction of day long training on growing nutrient/micronutrient-dense crops, horticulture technologies, and homestead gardening for 10,000 smallholders and marginal farmers (500 groups) by Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE).
Distribute 1 round of summer and 2 rounds of winter vegetable seeds to 10,000 small- holder farming households.
Distribute 1 round of summer and 1 round of winter vegetable seed to 500 crop demonstration farmers.
Collect production data from demonstration farmers and produce an analytical report
Establish 50 Year-round Vegetable Cultivation Plots to enhance the local supply chain of high value vegetables for the Rohingya camps, Agri Business Service Centre (ABSCs) and local markets.
Identify five sites in and around the ACs to establish five water-efficient irrigation kits (drip irrigation, sprinkler irrigation).
Provide training on the adoption of efficient irrigation systems to 5 ACMC.
Select five sites to establish five ACs and facilitate the land registration process.
Support new ACs on registration with the Department of Cooperatives.
Provide one day training (6 hours long) on organizational development for 25 (ACMC) (500 members).
Identify 100 Local Service Providers (LSPs) specializing in machinery repair and livestock vaccination, along with 50 Digital Service Providers (DSPs), to support ACMCs and community farmers.
Provide one day financial literacy and business planning training (6 hours long) for 100 local service providers (LSPs), 50 DSPs, and 500 ACMCs in 25 ACs.
Prepare agreements or contracts between 25 ACMCs with 25 input suppliers and 25 output buyers to ensure access of the farmers to the quality inputs and enhance sales to the market.
Conduct an assessment on the effectiveness of agent banking services delivered through the (ACs).
Support establishment of agent banking outlets in Acs.
Support 500 farmer groups to open bank accounts.
Conduct a 3-day Training of Trainers (ToT) for project staff on organizational development, use of digital tools and applications, financial literacy and business planning.
Install signboards and ensure visibility at all 25 Acs.
Produce a video documentary showcasing the project's activities and impacts.
Track the regular sales and transactions from AC to the local and camp markets using FAO developed AC sales tool.
Track the delivery service from the Digital Village Centre’s (DVCs) using FAO developed DVC service delivery tracking tool.
Identify potential market actors, various entrepreneurs, dealers, retailers, lead firms.
Implement a variety of market linkage and business development activities related to various IGAs.
Assess and improve skills and competencies of livelihood related entrepreneurs of business skills such as livelihood, financial literacy, marketing, supply chain linkages, public sector linkages and technical capacity, etc.
Capacity to liaise closely with the relevant private sector (SMEs, associations, specialized organizations), government bodies, (I) NGOs and other projects at district/sub-district levels.
Develop women led enterprises, CBOs, Cooperative, VSLA and value Chain of project produced commodities.
Assist EFSL Officer to Provide livelihoods support to beneficiary and ensure the proper utilization of support.
Adequate filed visit to proper utilization of livelihood support by beneficiaries and ensure economic benefit of beneficiaries.
Any other duties as per project and organization requirement.
