Job Context:
∎ World Vision Bangladesh is looking for a competent Project Officer – interactive theatre for funded SNSP project which will be implemented in Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar. The objective of the project is to improve community resilience by engaging youth members of the community in learning, meaningful and rewarding community services activities and dissuading them from getting involved in anti-social activities at the Rohingya camps.
∎ The Position holder, under the direct supervision of Project Manager, is responsible to develop script, organize theatre team and development of drama performance and arrange theatre show for awareness building, capacity to design costume/set/light designs and prepare event report.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure project is running according to the agreed timeframe and Detailed Implementation Plan.
∎ Develop SOPs for theatre and implemented.
∎ Formation of theatre groups.
∎ Ensured effective theatre performance through development stories and organize rehearsal and show.
∎ Field coordinator to arrange events at community.
∎ Assist to project team to find out in an effective theatre delivery method.
∎ Organized training to the project staff and volunteers.
∎ Ensure routine monitoring of the project activities and provide feedback against the findings.
∎ Participate in the assessment of community needs and resources, collection of base line data to assist in project implementation.
∎ Plan and monitor all field activities, i.e. appointments, meetings, training / service distributions, monitoring and beneficiary follow-ups.
∎ Ensure budget tracking system in place.
∎ Ensure all expenditures according to WV financial policies and manual.
∎ Assist sectors to identify evidence-based tools and project design and prioritization
∎ Ensure lesson learned events.
∎ Maintain close and timely coordination with donors, CiCs, protection and site management.
∎ Ensure timely reporting to donor and camps.
∎ Actively participate in weekly cooperatives partners meeting, Cluster meeting, camp coordination meeting and represents WVB.
∎ Manage the budget allocated for theatre interventions and ensure all expenses are according to budget allocation and meet donor standards with regard to financial management, including accountability and good governance.
∎ Ensure timely forecasting of budget and financial tracking accordingly.
∎ Ensure timely invoices submission.
∎ Ensure all documents are preserved.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 28 to 35 years
∎ Practical knowledge on theatre and stage performance
∎ Reporting and accounting experience needed
∎ Experience in script writing and costume design.
∎ Good in communication, interpersonal skills and cross-cultural sensitivity.
∎ Skills in community engagement and mobilization
∎ Well known Chittagongian dialect
∎ Knowledge of MS office, websites, outlook and Lotus Notes
∎ Ability to exhibit exemplary lifestyle as interpreted in specific local culture
∎ context
∎ Cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible world view, emotional maturity and physical stamina
∎ 3 - 5 years’ working experience in managing theatre.
∎ Working experience with I/NGOs.
∎ The position will be based at Ukhiya and will work in camp settings thus must be willing and able to
∎ Travel in the camps.
