  • Fluency in local language; familiarity with Sunamganj/Dhaka contexts.

  • Strong monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills..

Organizational Brief: The Center for Natural Resource Studies (CNRS) is a prominent environmental non-governmental organization (NGO) in Bangladesh, established in 1994. Since its inception, CNRS has actively engaged in its mission and has garnered recognition from various local, national, and international stakeholders, including government bodies and funding agencies, by showcasing innovative approaches and delivering significant learning outcomes.

Job Context: Center for Natural Resource Studies (CNRS) is going to implement Transforming Lives Through Nutrition project with support from Helen Keller Intl. The goal of the Transforming Lives Through Nutrition initiative is to improve maternal and child health, through the delivery of proven nutrition interventions and to strengthen health and food systems at scale by putting women and children at the center.

Job Summary: The Project Officer will be responsible for the overall implementation of the project activities in the respective Upazila as per plan. Under the guidance of the Project Coordinator, s/he will work closely with government health and family planning service providers, frontline supervisors, field facilitators and volunteers, as well as s/he will provide adequate facilitation support, supportive supervision, monitoring, and mentoring to the Field Facilitator(s) and volunteers for smooth and timely implementation of project activities.

Job Description / Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and monitor the project activities in the respective Upazila as per the guidance of the Project Coordinator.

  • Maintain strong communication and coordination with the government (MoHFW, DAE and DLS) and other relevant stakeholders.

  • Implement project’s support in strengthening DNCC & UNCC and participate in coordination meetings of Health / FP / CHCP, update progress, and represent the project team.

  • Coordinate and supervise field-level implementation of project activities in assigned areas.

  • Supervise Field Facilitators and CNVs as per the supervision plan and present field findings in monthly coordination meetings. Prepare project activity progress reports and ensure timely submissions to the respective supervisor.

  • Guide and mentor field facilitators and volunteers to ensure quality implementation of project activities.

  • Adopt and execute new initiatives in the respective Upazila in the context of geographical dynamics, innovation, action research, documentation, and learning.

  • Implement the project activities in a cost-effective manner, within the budget framework, record keeping and monitoring project activities, and providing feedback to the project team and management.

  • Facilitate the requirement process of volunteers with guidance from project management and ensure their capacity building through formal and informal training, mentoring, and supportive supervision.

  • Facilitate the Training for government frontline workers (HA, FWA, CHCP) on IYCF practices and acute malnutrition management

  • Document innovations, case studies, and other pilot initiatives as guided by the Project Coordinator.

  • Maintain proper documentation and record-keeping in line with the project’s MEAL plan and Data Quality Assurance (DQA) standards

  • Prepare and share monthly SAM-MAM tracker. Ensure data quality and completeness in a timely manner according to project/donor guidelines, including quality reporting.

  • Facilitate the admission of project-referred SAM children to the SAM units of UHCs or district hospitals and maintain relevant documentation

  • Adopt and execute new initiatives undertaken by the project in areas of health and family planning, nutrition governance, climate-smart, and nutrition value chain agriculture.

  • Promote Equitable, women-friendly, gender-sensitive work environment and practices among team members and Support implementation of Helen Keller Intl’s planned and budgeted activities.

  • Coordinate project interventions with the technical guidance of the Nutrition Officer and Agriculture and Food Systems Officer for the respective components.

  • Conduct / perform any other responsibility when asked by the reportable person for the interest of the Program, .

  • Prepare success story and case study on the project interventions by the team members.

  • Coordinate and supervise communication activities in the field level at upazila level.

  • Maintain linkage and functional relationship with Upazilla administration and lined agencies especially with DAE and DLS.

  • Build and maintain functional relationship with private service providers

  • Presentation of technical achievements regularly in the project events.

  • Prepare and submit the periodic reports.
