Job Context:
∎ Mahideb Jubo Somaj Kallayan Somity (MJSKS) is a non-government and non-political community development organization located in Kurigram district in the northern Bangladesh. As a non-profit making organization, it has been registered with Social Welfare Department, Registration no.70/1974 and NGO Affairs Bureau of government of Bangladesh, vide registration no. 447/1991. Since 1972, the organization has been serving the poor and extreme poor with special focus on the char (River Island) and attached char inhabitants (men, women, youth, children and adolescents) in different areas through several program initiatives. At present, MJSKS has been working in Kurigram, Rangpur and Lalmonirhat district. MJSKS has been implementing various types of projects in the field of livelihood development, human rights, women empowerment, youth employability and engagement, adolescent development, gender equality, quality education for children, water and sanitation, health, hygiene & nutrition, Humanitarian Assistance in disaster and climate change adaptation. Sustainable development for the poorest through ensuring peoples participation is the key approach of its work.
∎ MJSKS is going to implement the "Educational Prospects for Children from Marginalized Groups- Quality Education, Safe Schools, Active Civil Society (SATIRTHO) project" in Kurigram district and "Promoting Inclusive and Equitable Quality Education in Two Rural Districts of Bangladesh (PRIORITY) project" in Lalmonirhat district to further accelerate the educational process with quality. Both projects will be implemented with the collaboration of NETZ Partnership for Development and Justice.
∎ MJSKS is looking for qualified Project Manager (District Organizer) for the said projects.
∎ Job Nature: Full-time up to the project period based on performance
∎ Job Location: Kurigram and Lalmonirhat District.
∎ Reporting to: Project Director.
∎ Job duration: 48 Months
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Project Manager (District Organizer) is to be responsible for overall implementation and management of the project. Major responsibilities including:
∎ Manage and supervise staff of the project;
∎ Train project staff and school community;
∎ Monitor activities from school to district level;
∎ Compile management information;
∎ Correspond with project director and relevant colleagues in back-donor;
∎ Lead advocacy initiatives at local level including district;
∎ Maintain liaison with relevant local authorities including government education offices;
∎ Ensure efficient and transparent use of project budget and other resources
∎ Write reports and other need based documents.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience: Minimum 5 years in education programme in reputed NGOs (National/international)
∎ Advance knowledge about primary education in Bangladesh.
∎ Comprehensive knowledge in conducting training/workshop to capacity building of project staff, Teacher, and school community.
∎ Adequate knowledge in IEC materials development.
∎ Manage project independently in accordance with project proposal.
∎ Excellent skills in team management, good planning, coordinating and presentation.
∎ Ensure proper supervision & Monitoring for smooth implementation.
∎ High negotiation skill with government education office and other local authority
∎ Adequate knowledge in office administration
∎ Have excellent oral and written communication and reporting in English and Bangla.
∎ Proficient in computer skills in MS office word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail, and internet browsing.
∎ Mandatory to drive motorcycle and have valid driving license.
∎ The candidate should have good knowledge on safeguarding (Child Protection, Gender, and Anti-Sexual Harassment) issues social protection; government liaison; complaint response and feedback mechanisms.
Salary:
∎ Tk. 60000 (Monthly)
∎ Initial monthly salary Tk. 60,000 (possibility of yearly salary incriment 5-10%) with yearly 01 month gross salary as festival bonus and 01 month gross salary as gratuity. Organisation can split the bonus according to organisation policy.
