• Proven ability to work independently, solve problems effectively, and lead a team in a remote project location.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.

• Must be physically fit and willing to be based on-site in Rangpur.

We are embarking on a significant new project in the Rangpur district and are seeking an experienced and results-driven Agriculture Project Manager to lead this initiative.

Role Summary:

We are looking for a highly qualified and hands-on Manager with deep expertise in agriculture, horticulture, and the specific intricacies of seed farm planning and execution. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all existing agricultural operations and leading the planning, development, and management of a new seed farm project in Taraganj, Rangpur. This role requires a proven leader capable of running the project autonomously from planning to harvest.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Execution:

• Develop and implement comprehensive project plans for new and existing agricultural and horticultural operations, with a specific focus on seed production.

• Design detailed crop rotation schedules, seed multiplication programs, and farm layout plans for maximum efficiency and yield.

• Oversee all stages of production, from land preparation and sowing to harvest, post-harvest handling, and storage.

Technical Expertise:

• Apply advanced knowledge of agronomy, soil science, plant physiology, and integrated pest management (IPM) to optimise crop health and seed quality.

• Manage all aspects of seed farm operations, including isolation distances, rouging, pollination control, and ensuring genetic purity.

• Supervise horticultural activities for relevant crops, managing nursery operations, irrigation, and canopy management.

Operational Management:

• Manage day-to-day farm operations, ensuring all activities are completed on schedule and within budget.

• Lead, train, and manage a team of farm supervisors and labourers.

• Manage the procurement of high-quality inputs (seeds, fertilisers, agrochemicals, equipment) and ensure proper inventory control.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

• Monitor and analyse crop performance, weather data, and soil conditions to make informed decisions.

• Maintain accurate records of all farm activities, inputs, yields, and costs.

• Prepare regular progress reports on project milestones, challenges, and financial performance.
