∎ 3-year or more experiences on development aid project(s) in the fisheries sector with international organization(s), particularly in Cox’s Bazar is preferable.
∎ Fluency in English in listening, speaking and writing.
∎ Willingness to undertake frequent business trips to Cox’s Bazar District and other areas, while being based in Dhaka.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Invitation for Individual Consultant for Providing Consulting Services as “Project Management Officer for Fisheries Livelihood Enhancement Project in the Coastal Area of the Bay of Bengal (FiLEP)”
∎ Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is an implementing agency of Japanese Official Development Assistance (ODA) operating in Bangladesh from 1974. With our vision “Leading the world with trust”, JICA with its partners, aims to provide effective support to promote development that will result in sustainable socioeconomic growth and poverty reduction.
∎ Brief background of the consulting services:
∎ The FiLEP aims at improving livelihoods of fisheries households which are facing socio-economical predicaments due to the massive influx of displaced persons from Myanmar in Cox’s Bazar District (target Upazilas, namely, Teknaf, Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar Sadar, Moheshkhali, Kutubdia) through the collaboration with the Department of Fisheries (DoF), Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock. In this Project, the need for income generation activities both in the fisheries sector and the non-fisheries sector is identified and they are being implemented to support the livelihood enhancement. The Project also addresses natural resource management, gender equity and nutrition improvement.
∎ Duration: The contract period is 6.3 months from 22nd September 2024 to 31st March 2025 with possibility of extension.

∎ JICA invites eligible candidates to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested applicants are requested to collect the "Request for Proposal" by sending a formal request to the e-mail address ([email protected]) by 4:00 pm, 29th August, 2024.
∎ The proposal in accordance with the requirements specified in RFP must be submitted to the below mentioned address by 4:00 pm, on 2nd September 2024. The subject of the application will be "Proposal on Project Management on FiLEP". Any application received after the deadline will not be considered for the position and discarded. Only short-listed consultants will be contacted.
