Educational Requirements:
∎ Advanced degree (MBBS with Master’s degree) in a relevant field from an accredited university with at least 10 years of experience in a leadership position managing health programs in the developing world
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Management and Administration Responsibility
∎ Provides strategic leadership and technical, operational, financial, and managerial leadership for the successful implementation of project activities.
∎ Ensures that the program is technically sound, evidence-based, and consistent with the funder and stakeholders’ priorities.
∎ • Provides oversight of program implementation including all activities, outputs, and outcomes related to project management and administration, including reporting, budget development and monitoring, financial transactions, execution of project plans, and project performance.
∎ • Oversees the selection and training of qualified program staff, assigning clear roles and responsibilities, providing effective supervision, and managing performance to ensure efficient operations.
∎ Ensures the project produces the specified results in the annual work plan(s) to the required standard of quality and within the timeline and budget parameters.
∎ Oversees budget pipeline development and budget monitoring.
∎ Conducts monthly reviews to ensure accountability of all project activities as well as the accurate and timely reporting of financial deliverables and obligations.
∎ Ensures that the project progresses following its contractual obligations and complies
∎ Clinical Responsibilities
∎ Will be responsible for initial assessment, requesting an investigation, analyzing the rest results, diagnosis, treatment, and re-assessment on follow-up.
∎ Will admit the patients under his/ her care whenever indicated within the limits of the approved and assigned privileges.
∎ Will prescribe or administer therapy, medication, and other specialised medical care to treat or prevent illness or disease.
∎ Will explain procedures and discuss diagnostic results or prescribed treatments with the patients and/or their attendants.
∎ Will be responsible for monitoring the patients' condition and progress and re-evaluate/ re-assessment and treat the patient accordingly.
∎ Will refer the patient to other specialists when necessary, also consult with, or provide consulting services to, other physicians whenever requested.
∎ He/ She must take daily rounds for his/ her In-Patients and referred patients
∎ He/ She must write the patient's complete medical record on time and also update the progress notes at the same time.
∎ He/ She should authenticate and sign the medical record/ progress notes with date, time and employee ID number, stamp every time. He/ She must also review and countersign all junior medical staff notes related to his/ her patients.
∎ He/ She will perform diagnostic or therapeutic procedures for which he/ she is specifically privileged according to his/ her qualification, licenses, and training &. experience.
∎ Will be responsible for approving the Discharge Summary, follow-up, and Medical Report of his/ her patients.
∎ Will ensure the implementation of all the approved policies and procedures, rules, regulations, protocols and guidelines, and clinical pathways that guide and support the provision of clinical services.
∎ Will direct and coordinate activities of nurses, assistants, specialists, therapists, and other medical staff inpatient care.
∎ Will contribute to the development of policies and procedures as part of the continuous quality improvement of his/ her department.
∎ Will serve on Departmental / Hospital Committees as requested
∎ Will be On-Call as per hospital policy, as needed and will assume the duties of Coordinator of Department.
∎ Will be responsible to attend the Code Blue (if applicable) and should be involved in all other emergency codes of the hospital.
∎ Will ensure that reports and information as required by the Coordinator
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 50 years
∎ Technical/clinical expertise and/or program management skills in OB/GYN AND
∎ chronic (non-communicable) disease management, with a strong preference for candidates
∎ with experience integrating the two.
∎ Strong preference for candidates with expertise/experience in health systems strengthening,
∎ integrated health service delivery, and human capacity development
∎ Demonstrated diplomatic, management, and communication skills to liaise and advocate with governments, donors thought leaders and other key stakeholders including other implementing agencies.
∎ Proven ability to write technical reports and program documents, and deliver presentations.
∎ Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate cross-culturally.
