Educational Requirements:
∎ Completed (MBBS) with post-graduate qualification (FCPS, MS, Diploma)
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 5 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provides medical care and specialist consultation to Obs & Gyne patients prescribes medication, and interprets investigations and treatment
∎ Performs Caesarean operations, both as scheduled / elective and emergency operations.
∎ Performs USGs for referred cases including pregnant women with complications and other obs & gyne cases and advice
∎ Always being available to attend obstetrics emergencies by being the first on-call if required.
∎ Carries out daily ward rounds for admitted obstetric and gynecological patients including post-operative cases, with the support of other medical doctors, and health professionals working in the health complex
∎ Overseeing and managing the MCH clinic; supporting and training staff, advice on improvements to service delivery as well as direct provision of antenatal, perinatal, and post-natal services.
∎ Support the schedules and maintenance of medical equipment, and surgical suite (theatre), including operating, wash-up, waiting rooms, and anesthetic and sterilizing equipment.
∎ Supervises and mentors nurses, medical students, and other mid-level healthcare professionals
∎ Provides on-the-job training to other health staff and junior doctors on; improved management practices and other quality best practices with the aim of improving patients' treatment outcomes
∎ The incumbent will work as a team member with clinical and administrative staff and doctors in managing gynecological and obstetric cases.
∎ Inform the secondary referral center about the referred case with a significant medical condition to ensure proper and timely patient handling at the referral center upon arrival and assisted critical cases to function in secondary health facilities or hospitals when required
∎ Enter medical information and other details into health databases with maintaining confidentiality. Also required to submit daily field trip reports and necessary feedback to the National Programme Officer on a regular basis and assist to prepare periodic reports and other requests for information as required
∎ Participates actively in existing health sector coordination mechanisms and liaises with the health sector. Addressing the unmet needs in maternal health, optimizing the allocation of available resources, and developing clinical protocols, guidelines, and standards.
∎ Performs other relevant duties assigned by the line manager and supervisor.
∎ Excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills;
∎ Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills; courtesy, tact, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people
∎ Well-developed skills in personal organization, priority setting, problem-solving, Strong client orientation, and service approach with a personal commitment
