Job Context:
∎ Caritas Bangladesh (CB) is a national and non-profit development organization operating in Bangladesh since 1967. It has its Central Office in Dhaka and eight Regional Offices in Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Dinajpur, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rajshahi and Sylhet. CB is implementing 89 on-going projects covering 189 focusing upazila on six main priorities i.e i) Social Welfare for Vulnerable Communities (SWVC), ii) Education and Child Development, iii) Nutrition and Health Education, iv) Disaster Management, v) Ecological Conservation and Food Security (ECFS), and vi) Development of Indigenous Peoples.
∎ Caritas Bangladesh (CB), Cox`s Bazar is looking for suitable candidates for the following positions for immediate appointment as well as to prepare panel list for Emergency Response to the Forcibly Displaced People of Myanmar in Bangladesh.
∎ The details of the positions including job responsibilities, educational qualification and other qualities /competency required for the above positions are given below for your information.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Responsible for the overall monitoring and timely and effective implementation Shelter and DRR related activities of projects.
∎ Field visit to the project areas regularly for close monitoring as well as verify the qualities and quantities of the activities.
∎ Guide Site Engineers for implementation of shelter, site development and community mobilization activities.
∎ Maintain team spirit among the staff members and keep linkage with other operational areas.
∎ Prepare drawing, design, cost estimate and analyze of rates for shelter, site development and other infrastructure construction works.
∎ Maintain effective liaison with related stakeholders.
∎ Assist in maintaining trackers for budget monitoring, level of effort utilization.
∎ Organize and oversee the construction of demonstration rural temporary housing (shelter) and for vulnerable households.
∎ Provide training to field staff and monitor standards of construction and work.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Minimum 3 years of experience in Shelter and DRR Project.
∎ Ability to engage with local and international agencies.
∎ Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and training skills.
∎ Computer: MS Word, Internet, E-mails, Excel.
∎ Strong written and oral command in English is required. Speaking ability in Chattogram local dialect a plus.
∎ Shows persistence when faced with difficult problems or challenges.
∎ Should be self-driven and positive to work in a team.
∎ Should have "can do' attitude and able to handle multiple tasks managing priorities.
∎ Committed to work following organizational aims, values, principal and policies.
∎ Age: Maximum 40 years (as on 30.04.2021)
Salary:
∎ 75,000 BDT (Consolidated) per month
