∎ Project Background
∎ With the support of RVO`s EnDev Innovation Window, SNV Bangladesh iis going to implement the Bangladesh Energy Access to Modernization (BEAM) Fund in Gazipur and Jhenaidah Districts. The objective of the BEAM Fund is to test a viable modality for the use of demand-side contribution that places the choice for quality e-cooking options in the hands of vulnerable customer segments.
∎ The project will test the effectiveness of conditional demand-side subsidies to consumers as a means to improve the effectiveness of financing in reaching vulnerable market segments. The innovation will be modelled upon SNV`s global track record and expertise in the delivery of Results-Based Financing (RBF) while integrating elements of retro-fit and conditional cash transfer design principles to enhance a market-driven approach for socially inclusive use of demand-side subsidies.
∎ SNV Bangladesh is also piloting Modern Energy Cooking Services (MECS) project supported Solar PV & Grid integrated e-cooking project in urban slum localities of Dhaka under the leadership of Southampton University UK. This project aims to research on the willingness to pay for access to the E-cooking network and understand the complex social and cultural issues which may act as a barrier to uptake.
∎ Context and purpose of the job:
∎ The Project Assistant is part of an SNV Country Organisation and is appointed to the two energy projects mentioned above in the country.
∎ The Project Assistant works at a sub-national level, by providing support in the implementation of the project by following guided procedures and processes, according to specific rules and donor compliance. The Project Assistant ensures service needs are reviewed and service delivery is guided. The Project Assistant can assist in the Finance and Administration of a project or also on the technical side of the project implementation.
∎ Duty station : Dhaka with frequent travel to the project areas
∎ Contract Duration : The duration of the proposed contract is up to 12 months with a possibility of extension depending on performance and availability of funds.
∎ Expected Joining Date : As soon as possible.
∎ Working Hours : Full time (minimum of 40 hours per week)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Result areas:
∎ Support in project monitoring and documentation:
∎ Support in ensuring the planning, monitoring, documentation and reporting is done as per donor requirements, and SNV procedures and systems.
∎ Design and support to develop different types of project-related monitoring tools and survey protocols for documentation of the project interventions and tracking progress using Microsoft excel/SPSS software.
∎ Collect and consolidate the project data, and produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to project management.
∎ Field visit & Supervise data processing of different M&E activities and analyses data for M&E related activities.
∎ Documentation & Reporting :
∎ Ensure process and progress documentation as per project's requirements.
∎ Develop a better functioning system to keep meeting records, attendance and ensure that all documentation both electronic and hard copies are maintained in good and accessible condition.
∎ Extend support to prepare project activity mapping, periodical project progress reports, PPT, survey questionnaires, meeting minutes, arranging workshop for the project in consultation with the Project Coordinator-Energy.
∎ Extend support to prepare different skill development training module, IEC/BCC materials.
∎ Develop knowledge management and documents like- success stories, best practices, case studies from the project interventions to prepare narrative reports.
∎ Pictorial documentation and presentation of best practices and all the project interventions.
∎ Extend support to showcase energy project related activities on website and social media for internal and external audiences.
∎ Assist in drafting energy related project concept notes, proposals, activity planning & budget for business development.
∎ Assist to prepare Conference/Technical briefs publication on energy projects
∎ Service & process delivery & Account keeping :
∎ Assist to Project Coordinator-Energy following up day to day project activities, arranging workshop/meeting, beneficiary selection & listing, maintain close communication with field project staff & support to schedule their activities.
∎ Support by providing information to measure project progress and addresses deviations in terms of timelines and quality, based on project planning, deliverables agreed and budget set.
∎ Assist to develop documents for Logistics and procurement for project(s) in compliance with organisational and donor requirements and to achieve value for money.
∎ The above list of job responsibilities is not exclusive or exhaustive and the position will be required to undertake any assigned responsibilities assigned by his/her Supervisor as may reasonably be expected within the scope of the position.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 2- 3 years of experience in the relevant field
∎ Competencies:
∎ Good knowledge in development working approach and knowledge in Energy & climate change will add value.
∎ Experience on data management and monitoring tools will be an added value
∎ Ability to work independently, as well as member of a team, creative, enthusiastic and to be flexible to accommodate the needs of stakeholders
∎ Good representation and interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills
∎ Good command of spoken and written English both Bangla & English languages and report writing
∎ Good IT skills (Ms. Word, Ms. Excel, Ms. Power Point, Photoshop, Internet and E-mail)
Salary:
∎ The total Gross salary package (basic salary + House Rent Allowance + Transportation Allowance + Medical Allowance) will range between BDT 45,908 and BDT 51,816 per month, depending on the selected candidate`s work experience.
