Job Context:
∎ Rights Jessore is a leading human rights organization in Bangladesh dedicated to protection and promotion of human rights, prevention of human trafficking and providing service to the victims of human trafficking including child trafficking victims. Since 1991, Rights Jessore has been working for providing supports to victim rescue, repatriation, reintegration and rehabilitation.
∎ Rights Jessore is going to implement "Mukti South Asia" project to develop capacity of service providers and provide comprehensive reintegration support to child victims of trafficking and increase awareness at community and students level on child protection, trafficking, safe migration, and online sexual exploitation in Jashore & Satkhira districts of Bangladesh. The project will start from 1st April 2023 to 31st March 2027 and the project will implement at Jashore and Satkhira districts.
∎ This is a regional project lead by ECPAT Luxemburg that covers source and destinations for interstate and inter-country child sex trafficking in Bangladesh, India and Nepal. The primary beneficiaries of this project are child victims and children vulnerable to sex trafficking as well as local, district, national and South Asia-level stakeholders. The project will engage young survivors in dialogue on child sexual exploitation, including child trafficking, and harness their advice and recommendations to inform TIP interventions, policy design and legislations in the region. In this regard, Rights Jessore invites application for a position of Program Officer as per below job description.
∎ Position Summary of Program Officer
∎ Rights Jessore will recruit one Program Officer for Jashore and Satkhira district. The Program Officer will be responsible mainly for identifying child trafficking victims and strengthening the capacity of Child Welfare Board members at union, upazila and district to increase support to child trafficking victims. The program Officer will also be responsible for other project activities which are provided in below section.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Program Officer will be full time position of this project and work in the project locations.
∎ The Program Officer will be responsible for enhancing capacity of platform members who are involved with Child Welfare Board at Union, Upazila, district level.
∎ The position will be responsible for conducting half yearly meetings with platform members at district level.
∎ The Program Officer will assist to organize joint advocacy meeting at district and national level with concern Stakeholders on Child Protection Issue.
∎ The Program Officer will assist to organize cross boarder consultation (India-Nepal-Bangladesh) with concern Stakeholders at state level on Child Protection Issue.
∎ The Program Officer will be responsible for conducting coordination meeting with the concern stakeholders like- Law Enforcement Agencies representatives, Judiciary related actors and Media personnel, DEMO, TTC, Social Welfare, Women Affairs including platform members and other service-providing agencies.
∎ The Program Officer will be responsible for conducting awareness session at educational institutions, community level on child trafficking, child marriage and safe migration issue, online sexual exploitation.
∎ The Program Officer will assist to conduct rescue and repatriation of child trafficking victims.
∎ The Program Officer will assist to organize life skill and shame resilience training to build capacity for project victims.
∎ The Program Officer will be responsible for providing reintegration support to project victim including shelter, health, education, legal and livelihood support.
∎ The position will maintain liaison with project related stakeholders and government institutions and upazila and district level administration for victims' reintegration activities smoothly.
∎ Attend various internal and external meeting, seminar, and workshops that relevant to the project.
∎ Program Officer will work together with other project staff especially Project Counsellor for providing reintegration support and other project activities.
∎ Perform any other related duties or responsibilities that may be assigned by the organization or donor agency.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 30 to 45 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Must have at least 3 years of similar experience in field level program implementation under trafficking and migration sector.
∎ Professional work experience in reintegration support and management of human trafficking survivors and its reporting.
∎ Experience in Human Trafficking project will be added value for this position.
∎ Good skill in documentation and report writing in English.
∎ Working knowledge on MS Office applications, Excel, and Power Point.
Salary:
∎ Tk. 28000 - 29500 (Monthly)
∎ Monthly mentioned gross salary with other admissible benefits as per project support.
