  • At least 2–3 years of experience in anti-human trafficking, safe migration, group development, referral service, local government, child marriage prevention, community engagement, preferably with an NGO or development project.

  • Sound knowledge on trafficking, child sex trafficking, protection, prevention, prosecution, referral and documentation.

  • Gender Based Violence Prevention and Response program, Child safe guarding program and Team Supervision

  • Good negotiation, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of integrity and accountability.

Project Background:

Rights Jessore is a leading human rights organization in Bangladesh committed to the protection, promotion, and advancement of human rights and human dignity. Since its establishment in 1991, the organization has been working extensively to prevent human trafficking and provide comprehensive protection, rehabilitation, repatriation, and reintegration support to trafficking survivors, vulnerable migrants, women, and children.

In this regard, with financial support from the Freedom Fund, Rights Jessore is implementing a nine-month project, commencing in July 2026, titled "Enhancing Protection of Child Sex Trafficking (CST) Survivors in Bangladesh." The project aims to contribute to a safer and more protective environment for children in Satkhira District by strengthening community-based prevention, early identification, and referral mechanisms through the coordinated efforts of Rapid Response Squads, Survivor Leader Groups, Child Help Desks, and Union Standing Committees. Through these interventions, the project seeks to reduce children`s vulnerability to internal child sex trafficking while enhancing access to protection, justice, and survivor-centered services for at-risk children and survivors.

Rights Jessore invites applications and looking for suitable candidates for an immediate appointment for the position of Project Officer.

Position Summary of Project Officer

The Project Officer will be responsible for the effective implementation, coordination, monitoring, and reporting of project activities aimed at preventing internal child sex trafficking and strengthening community-based child protection mechanisms in Satkhira District. The incumbent will work closely with project stakeholders, local government institutions, law enforcement agencies, survivor groups, community volunteers, and partner organizations to ensure the successful achievement of project objectives.

Major Job Description / Responsibility

  • Coordinate and oversee all field-level project activities in Satkhira Sadar, Kalaroa, and Debhata Upazilas in accordance with the approved work plan and project objectives.

  • Organize and facilitate advocacy meetings, workshops, orientations, training sessions, community awareness meetings, and coordination meetings with relevant stakeholders.

  • Liaise and maintain regular communication with police stations, Child Help Desks, Union Parishads, Union Standing Committees, government departments, community leaders, and other relevant stakeholders.

  • Support the establishment, strengthening, and sustainability of Child Help Desks in selected police stations.

  • Facilitate the formation and capacity development of Rapid Response Squads (RRS) and Survivor Leader Groups (SLGs) and provide ongoing technical guidance to ensure their effective functioning.

  • Work closely with Social Mobilizers to identify children at risk of internal child sex trafficking, ensure appropriate referrals, and support community-based protection initiatives.

  • Coordinate with Union Parishad Standing Committees and other local governance structures to mainstream child protection and child sex trafficking prevention issues in their regular activities.

  • Support the provision and referral of non-institutional services, including education, health, legal aid, psychosocial support, and emergency assistance for vulnerable and at-risk children.

  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with NGOs, CBOs, government agencies, law enforcement authorities, and other relevant service providers to strengthen referral and protection mechanisms.

  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor project progress, assess activity quality, document lessons learned, and identify implementation challenges and solutions.

  • Collect, compile, verify, and maintain project data, case records, activity documentation, success stories, photographs, and other project-related information.

  • Prepare and submit quality monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, field visit reports, activity reports, case studies, and other documentation as required by project management and donors.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, child safeguarding standards, code of conduct, protection principles, and donor requirements throughout project implementation.

  • Assist in project planning, budget utilization monitoring, event management, procurement processes, and logistical arrangements related to field activities.

  • Represent Rights Jessore in meetings, workshops, coordination forums, and networking events at Upazila and District levels as assigned.

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Program Coordinator or Management that contribute to the successful implementation of the project.



Job Other Benifits:
    • Monthly gross salary BDT 30, 000 with other admissible benefits as per project support.
