Educational Requirements:
∎ The ideal candidate will have a university degree and at least 3-years working experience with similar responsibilities in the development sector. Experience working with workers and trade unions in the field of labor rights, occupational safety and health and/or gender-based violence and harassment strongly desired. Experience implementing US-government funded projects preferred.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Under the supervision of and in coordination with the SC Country Program Director (CPD), Deputy Country Program Director (DCPD) and/or his/her representative, the Program Officer will:
∎
∎ Supporting management of project activities including coordinating with local partners, supporting project implementation and financial and administrative oversight, reporting, and monitoring and evaluation of the project.
∎ Responsible for assisting in the maintenance and record keeping of SC supported programs as part of the monitoring and evaluation process of the SC-Bangladesh.
∎ Responsible to work with, instruct and collect all information from local partners in and ensure that data and information are correct and accurate.
∎ Responsible to draft and submit sections of monthly, quarterly and yearly reports on activities needed by SC Headquarters and/or Donor to the SC Country Program Director.
∎ Coordinate with Administrative Staff in drafting and preparing reports needed by the Local Government and the NGO Affairs Bureau (NGOAB).
∎ Interface with other Program Officers, Bookkeeper/Accountant, and Administrative officer for the efficient administration, logistic management, and accounting/ recordkeeping of program activities.
∎ As directed by CPD/DCPD, liaise with other civil society organizations, government ministries, and others on behalf of the Solidarity Center.
∎ Participate in, and as required, conduct trainings and make presentations as directed by CPD/DCPD.
∎ Provide oral interpretation and written translation as required and as a normal part of his/her work assignments.
∎ Perform related program management, program development work and other related tasks as directed by the CPD/DCPD.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Ability to work in accordance with the requirements of the funders.
∎ In depth understanding of the development sector, labor rights issues, gender equality and inclusion;
∎ Understanding of labor rights and workers issues and the trade union movement in Bangladesh;
∎ Creative and analytical thinking ability, multitasking, team spirit and the attitude to deliver results in a timely manner;
∎ Ability to work under pressure, with minimal supervision and be well organized and self-motivated.
∎ Ability to exercise good judgment;
∎ Excellent interpersonal skills, an enthusiastic attitude and a commitment to contribute to a positive work environment;
∎ Outstanding communication and networking skills for relationship building and ability to work effectively with allies and staff from diverse ethnic, social and economic groups;
∎ High level ability to communicate orally and in writing in both Bangla and English;
∎ Computer skills and excellent typing skills both in English and Bangla.
