Educational Requirements:
∎ Graduate degree in Product Design, Interior Design, Architecture or Fine Art.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Product / Interior Designer to facilitate the on-going creation of cultural heritage items produced in collaboration with Rohingya craftsmen and in support of the establishment of the Rohingya Cultural Memory Centre (RCMC).
∎ Work as part of the RCMC team, designing weekly plans and delivering the necessary ad-hoc design training to craftsmen, as well as monitoring the production on a weekly basis and managing the documentation of the outcomes produced.
∎ Engage actively in workshops with Rohingya individuals and key community members to define how their identity and cultural stories should be portrayed.
∎ Identify and engage key creative individuals and nurture their talent through creative processes and the production of outcomes.
∎ Supervise and mentor accordingly a selected group of Rohingya agents to assist in the tasks of researching and documenting the information related to the items produced so to be archived in the RCMC repository accordingly.
∎ Work in collaboration with the RCMC architect and manager to implement the Rohingya Experience walk-through exhibit in the physical center.
∎ Develop the curricula, in collaboration with Rohingya artisans and RCMC manager, for a series of master classes designed to teach Rohingya heritage craft techniques and share cultural knowledge to members across the camp community.
∎ Assist in the delivery of the RCMC master classes, including helping build the confidence and capacity of artisans to deliver the classes, and other support.
∎ Support the curator and RCMC, the Project Field Coordinator and core team with any other tasks that might be identified or relevant to the nature of the project.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Good knowledge and practical ability of sketching ideas and drawing designs.
∎ Practical knowledge producing furniture and small size objects.
∎ Experience in producing architectural models is an asset.
∎ Have an interest in ethnographic research and in traditional knowledge and design.
∎ Have attention for detail and ability to solve problems in creative ways.
∎ Ability to work under pressure and out-of-working hours.
∎ Practical knowledge of photography and video is an asset.
∎ Must be a team player with good capacity for collaboration, willingness to learn and grow, and ability to set aside personal ego in order to work on a shared vision.
∎ The candidate must be empathetic and sensitive in engaging with the refugee community.
∎ Previous experience in humanitarian and emergency response environments is an asst.
∎ Experience in managing and mentoring small teams and delivering workshops.
∎ Working knowledge of MS Office and creative software such Adobe Creative Cloud.
∎ Proficiency in spoken and written English and Bangladeshi language. Chittagonian or Rohingalish is an asset.
∎ Languages
∎ Fluency in Bangla and English is required. Working knowledge of local language is an advantage.

Salary:
∎ Monthly gross salary for this position is BDT 96,687.92.
