Responsibilities & Context:

The Product Development Specialist under the Resilient Futures for Rohingya Communities (RFRC) Project will be based on the field office staff, trainers, and beneficiaries to ensure the capacity building Initiative, guideline/module preparation, catalogue development, planning, quality, efficient, and effective delivery of project activities for marketable products, designing and development, product promotion, etc. The Specialist will play a vital role in facilitating market linkages and promoting sustainable income-generating opportunities for Rohingya refugee participants of the RFRC Project. The officer will work to ensure the successful integration of project graduates into local informal markets and support micro-enterprise development through coaching, training, and strategic partnerships. The position will be responsible for the direct field implementation of all kinds of integrated non-farm IGA for training, gap analysis, and product branding, market linkage of Project-selected trade-based non-farm intervention among the FDMN. Assist to project staff to include the liaison with the Government Department, Market actors, related NGOs, and counter counterparts’ liaison, as which other WVB projects, to ensure the services are well integrated and well-coordinated.

The role focuses on enabling Rohingya individuals to acquire marketable product promotion skills, access market opportunities, and reduce reliance on humanitarian assistance. The specialist will assist the PM to ensure that all monitoring systems are in place and are functional, and that the feedback from the monitoring system is being utilized to improve program implementation. The Officer will assist in documenting success stories, collecting market impact data, and contributing to project reports and case studies in collaboration with the Knowledge Management and MEL team.

Assisting the Project Manager in controlling the project budgets by monitoring:

  • Assist in the efficient and effective delivery of the project's services

  • Assist the PM in developing plans and schedules.

  • Assist in identifying and selecting training needs for non-farm like sewing, handicraft, tailoring, block batik, etc.

  • Organize capacity building initiative of staff, FDMN, volunteers

  • Capacity building of staff with the assistance of LSDS, Marker actors

  • Take a prime role in delivering specialized training.

  • Ensure training reporting.

  • Assist in ensuring inputs

  • Support the Project Manager in budget monitoring by tracking expenditures, ensuring cost-efficiency, and maintaining financial compliance across project activities.

Market Linkage, MSME Support, Product Promotion, and Exhibition:

  • Conduct market analysis and value chain mapping to identify viable income-generating activities in camps and host markets.

  • Coordinate and facilitate 120-hour non-formal technical training in tailoring, handicrafts to equip participants with marketable skills.

  • Facilitate training on local market promotion for advanced participants.

  • Organize quality control training for participants.

  • Guide and mentor participants in micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) development.

  • Coordinate one-off Business Start-Up Support for participants.

  • Provide continuous support for entrepreneurial activities at Community Training Centres (CTCs). Coordinate the establishment and operation of product showrooms within camps.

  • Ensure alignment of training and promotion activities with community interests and market demand.

Product Development and Production:

  • Coordinate the establishment and operation of product showrooms within camps.

  • Organize trade fairs and exhibitions to showcase products made by refugee entrepreneurs.

  • Liaise with stakeholders (e.g., WFP, IOM, local businesses) to promote refugee-made goods outside the camp.

 Assist the Project in Reporting and Accounting:

  • Assist the Project in reporting and tracking all commodities, non-food items, and inputs for the Beneficiaries.

  • Assist the team with internal weekly, monthly, and quarterly donor reporting.

  • Assist the team in working in collaboration with the Communications Unit to document success stories

Assist the Project to ensure Sustainability and Exit Strategy:

  • Assist the Project in leading the sustainability and exit strategy discussions with the Community/Government Leaders and World Vision Sectors.
