Job Context:
∎ LOCATION: SAFETI Office, Khulna, Bangladesh
∎ REPORTS TO: Deputy Chief of Party
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Identify innovative private sector partners; establish linkages and stimulate collaboration with the private sector, particularly input dealers/suppliers, shrimp and prawn seed suppliers, processors, depots, auction markets, feed companies and others involved in the input and output markets, associations, etc.
∎ Conduct value chain analyses as appropriate of the shrimp and prawn subsector, ensuring that approaches and activities are designed and implemented with quality technical standards.
∎ Support shrimp/prawn farming groups for availability of cost-effective production inputs and ensuring product price through the establishment of linkages with the market actors.
∎ Assist in the assessment of training needs of different supply chain actors and participate in developing training manuals and training sessions.
∎ Contribute to the development of the annual work plan, semi-annual reports and other reports on private sectors related activities.
∎ Understand the current situation of the actors (hatcheries, inputs suppliers/dealers, shrimp aggregators like depot holders, PL traders and nursery operators, processors etc.) of the shrimp/prawn supply chain and probably relevant associations.
∎ Based on the current situation and SAFETI goal, identify the actions how those actors can catalyze our effort in short and long term.
∎ Understanding the needs to be addressed for further development and sustainability of shrimp/prawn private sector actors.
∎ Identify the needs opportunities for collaboration and selection of potential actors (local input suppliers/dealers, PL nursery operators, PL traders, processors, feed companies, importers, suppliers etc.) in different SAFETI working Upazilas/Districts.
∎ Help develop MOU/LOA/MOA or other forms of partnership agreements for collaboration with selected actors/ companies/ associations/ organization as appropriate.
∎ Work with project partners to arrange workshop/seminar/training/study tour/exposure visits for private sector actors.
∎ Assist in preparing documentation of meetings, workshops, seminars, training and other activities including producing reports/success stories/case studies.
∎ Such other duties as assigned by his supervisor.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 8 years progressively professional work experience of private sector engagement in development programs.
∎ Proven experience as a value chain practitioner working with Processing Plants, Depot owners, farmers associations and other important actors of Shrimp and Prawn supply chain.
∎ Proven experience of establishing formal partnership among the different value chain actors.
∎ Working experience in Southwest and Southeast regions of the country in shrimp-prawn sub-sector.
∎ Knowledge in basic computer literacy using of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc. Has proven ability to produce English reports;
∎ Have team spirit in working with a diversified team.
Salary:
∎ Salary will be determined based on the candidate recent job and approved USAID Biodata (1420). This is a full-time position with all other entitlements.
