- Identify the root cause of physical issues, whether related to injury, illness, or age-related conditions.
- Take patient history to understand past injuries, treatments, and lifestyle factors affecting health.
Treatment Planning
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on the patient’s condition, goals, and level of function.
- Set short-term and long-term goals with patients and adjust treatment plans as needed.

Therapeutic Techniques

Pain Management

- Educate patients on techniques to manage pain on their own, including posture correction and ergonomic changes in daily routines.
Patient Education
- Teach patients about proper body mechanics to prevent injury (e.g., lifting techniques, posture, and ergonomic workstation setups).
- Provide advice on lifestyle changes such as physical activity levels, nutrition, and weight management to enhance recovery.
- Instruct on the use of assistive devices, such as crutches, walkers, or braces.
Rehabilitation
- Supervise and monitor progress during rehabilitation, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure effective recovery.
- Rebuild strength, coordination, and endurance in patients recovering from surgery, injury, or illness.
Collaboration
- Work with other healthcare professionals such as doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, and surgeons to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
- Refer patients to specialists for additional care if required, such as orthopedic surgeons or pain specialists.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain detailed patient records of assessments, progress, and treatment interventions.
- Document treatment outcomes and report any changes or progress to the healthcare team or insurance companies if required.
Prevention and Wellness
- Offer preventative care to clients at risk of developing injuries due to sports, occupation, or age-related factors.
- Encourage physical activity and healthy habits to prevent injuries or physical impairments in the future.
Continual Learning and Professional Development
- Stay current with advances in treatment techniques, technology, and research in physiotherapy.
