• Phlebotomists should be customer service oriented.

• Phlebotomists should be flexible, positive, and a good team player.

• Phlebotomists should be able to work under pressure.

• Phlebotomists should have a strong level of confidentiality.

• Sound experience in operating HIS system.

• Draw blood safely and comfortably from patients or donors using proper phlebotomy techniques.

• Label and archive blood samples for testing and processing.

• Reassure and calm patients who may be nervous about having blood drawn.

• Collect non-blood samples, such as urine, and instruct patients on proper collection procedures.

• Assemble, maintain, and dispose of medical instruments, such as needles, test tubes, and blood vials.

• Process and prepare specimens for testing in the laboratory.

• keep the patient`s confidentiality.

• Ensure cleanliness and safety of Infection Control in working area.

• To perform any tasks of a reasonable nature as required and requested by the supervisor or lab Manager.
