Responsibilities & Context:
1. Act as Pharmacist-in-Charge as required for Model Pharmacy services.
2. Ensure full compliance with DGDA and Model Pharmacy accreditation guidelines.
3. Implement and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for dispensing, storage, temperature monitoring, controlled drugs, near-expiry handling, and recalls.
4. Cooperate in DGDA inspections, internal audits, and Model Pharmacy supervision visits.
5. Handle prescriptions (checking for legibility) before dispensing.
6. Provide structured patient counselling.
7. Maintain records as required for Model Pharmacy (e.g., temperature logbook, purchase/sale register, antibiotic and controlled drug register).
8. Ensure medicines are stored according to manufacturer and DGDA requirements.
9. Implement FEFO (first expiry first out) inventory management.
10. Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety of the dispensing and storage areas.
11. Supervise B-grade pharmacists and C-grade pharmacy technicians.
12. Allocate daily tasks (dispensing, counselling, inventory checks, housekeeping, etc.).
13. Forecast medicine demand in collaboration with the Supply Chain team, considering seasonal patterns and prescribing trends.
14. Check and verify incoming stock (quantity, batch number, expiry date, registration status).
15. Maintain and regularly reconcile stock records.
16. Provide health education on common conditions where applicable.
17. Respect patient privacy and confidentiality in counselling and record.
Use pharmacy management software or POS systems for e-prescriptions, billing, inventory, and patient record management.
