Job Context:
∎ Under the supervision of the Program Manager and in collaboration with all the staff of SJP and Water and Life Bangladesh (W&L), the Operations Manager is responsible for the operational management.
∎ Frequent visits outside Chattogram will be a part of the job.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Assist the Program Manager for implementing the Strategy & Action Plan of SJP in the branch.
∎ Daily management of the Branch Manager: conduct weekly coordination meetings, regular missions in each branches, answer their concerns and support them on operational issues.
∎ Make sure that the processes stated in the Operation Manual are properly implemented, application process for new members, management of arrears, management of: complaints from the clients, job orders issued to plumbers, inventories, water loss monitoring.
∎ Keep the Operation Manual updated in case of evolution of some processes.
∎ Ensure a smooth and proper coordination from the operations to the other departments (Finance, Admin, HR, etc.) or W&L .
∎ Supervised the BM for the regular reporting: edit the data from the water sales software, review the monthly reports of each branch before submission to the Program Manager and train the Branch Manager on proper reporting.
∎ Manage and motivate the Community Leaders towards ensuring smooth Operations.
∎ Collaborate with the OM of W&L regularly. Proceed to field investigations/prospections in order to open new water networks in depressed areas.
∎ Ensure the implementation of technical jobs with collaboration of the technical team, Engineers and Sanitations team.
∎ Maintain workable and professional relationship with related stakeholders.
∎ Supporting the BMs of branch for the expansion of the branch:
∎ Coordinate with the local water operators in order to open new areas and improve our existing water networks: negotiate the Memorandum of Understanding, study the installation of new bulk meters.
∎ Monitor the acquisition of excavation permits and rights of way, in close coordination with the Engineer Supervisor and the Branch Managers.

Both W&L and SJP are engaged in partnerships with the local communities, authorities, water operator and other development stakeholders.
