Experience:

• At least 1 year
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Hospital, Clinic

• Diploma in Medical Technology

• Completion of a diploma/Certificate course in OT Technology, Medical Technology, or related field recognized in Bangladesh.
• OR at least 2 years of formal OT assistant training from an accredited institute.

1. OT Preparation and Sterilization

   • Prepare the OT before surgical procedures, ensuring cleanliness and infection control.

   • Sterilize and decontaminate surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies according to standard protocols.

   • Set up and arrange surgical instruments, sterile packs, drapes, and trays required for procedures.

2. Assistance During Surgery

   • Assist surgeons and nurses during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies as required.

   • Maintain a sterile field and anticipate the needs of the surgical team.

   • Monitor and manage surgical instruments and materials throughout the procedure.

3. Equipment Handling and Maintenance

   • Operate, clean, and maintain basic OT equipment such as autoclaves, suction machines, electrosurgical units, and sterilization units.

   • Report malfunctioning equipment immediately and coordinate with biomedical or technical support for repairs.

4. Post-operative Tasks

   • Clean and prepare the theatre for subsequent procedures.

   • Dispose of biomedical waste according to hospital and national infection control guidelines.

   • Ensure proper handling and storage of reusable instruments.

5. Documentation and Compliance

   • Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, instrument usage, and OT supply inventory.

   • Comply with hospital safety and quality assurance policies.

   • Assist in auditing OT processes for quality improvement.

6. Patient Safety and Support

   • Follow infection control and safety protocols to minimize risk of surgical site infections.

   • Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other staff regarding OT needs and issues.

   • Support patient positioning and preparation under supervision of nursing staff when required.
