Responsibilities & Context:
Examining sales invoices, receipts, and other relevant documents to ensure the accuracy and completeness of sales transactions.
Verifying sales returns against related documentation, such as customer credit notes and stock registers, to ensure proper authorization and accuracy.
Verifying customer payments by comparing them with bank statements to confirm receipt of funds.
Examining sales figures, including sales volume, revenue, and profit margins, to identify trends and potential issues.
Looking for discrepancies or anomalies in sales data, such as unusual sales patterns or unauthorized transactions.
Reviewing sales data from different systems, such as point-of-sale (POS) systems, to ensure data consistency and accuracy.
Checking that sales personnel are adhering to company policies and procedures related to sales, such as pricing, discounts, and customer interactions.
Ensuring that sales practices comply with relevant regulations and legal requirements.
Identifying any weaknesses in internal controls or procedures that could lead to errors, fraud, or inefficiencies.
Providing recommendations for improving internal controls, procedures, or policies to address identified weaknesses.
Working with management to implement recommendations and ensure that corrective actions are taken to address audit findings.
