• Professional certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Microsoft Certified Solution Expert(MCSE) are highly desirable.

• In-depth understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP) and IP addressing.

• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues under pressure.

• A proactive approach to monitoring, maintenance, and capacity planning to prevent problems before they occur.

• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical staff, including clinicians and administrators.

• Ability to remain calm and effective during system outages or critical situations. Collaborative spirit with a strong sense of responsibility and integrity.

• A deep understanding of the need for strict data confidentiality and security.

1. Network Infrastructure Management:

• Design, configure, install, and maintain all network hardware and software, including hospital’s LAN, WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, and access points.

• Ensure robust network segmentation to protect sensitive clinical systems from other network traffic through regular updates, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.

• Implement and manage VLANs, VPNs, and other network security protocols.

• Manage the hospital's IP telephony and wireless network systems.

2. Server and System Administration:

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers, including Active Directory, file servers, and domain controllers.

• Perform regular system backups, patch management, and server performance monitoring.

• Oversee data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity operations, ensuring they meet the Recovery Time and Point Objectives for critical healthcare applications.

• Ensure optimal uptime of HIS, PACS, LIS, and other hospital applications.

3. Security and Compliance:

• Implement and enforce network security measures to protect against cyber threats and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.

• Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.

• Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, and security policies.

4. Support and Collaboration:

• Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues from the IT help desk.

• Provide technical support to hospital departments (Medical, Admin, Pharmacy, Billing, etc.).

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior IT staff members.

5. On-Call Requirements

• Must be able to respond to and resolve urgent issues outside of standard business hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
