Experience of developing monitoring tools and formats
Ability to produce quality reports, concept notes and advocacy instruments
Sound ICT knowledge and skills literacy
Fluent in speaking and writing, both English and Bangla
Ability to visit field locations across Bangladesh on an average of 7-10 days in a month
Job Context:
The human rights and development organization `Nagorik Uddyog` has been working for the empowerment of the disadvantaged section of the Bangladeshi populations as a programmatic strategy for achieving its vision of a self-sustained egalitarian society. The organization will start implementing the new phase of the project titled `Protecting and Promoting the Rights of Dalits and Tackling the Poverty and Exclusion for the Excluded Groups` from 1 January 2025, which will continue till 31 December 2027. The project mainly focuses on grounding need-based community development initiatives for Dalits, intensifying advocacy, campaigning and mobilization effort for making Dalit issues more visible, and strengthening the capacity of a national network. Nagorik Uddyog is looking for a capable individual for the position of `Monitoring, Research and Advocacy Officer` who will mainly be responsible for ensuring effective project monitoring and carry out advocacy activities planned under the project based on research and evidence generation.
Job Responsibilities:
Design and implement a robust monitoring framework to track project activities and outcomes.
Gather, analyze, and interpret data to assess the impact of project interventions and recommend necessary adjustments.
Develop and refine tools to capture data effectively from diverse project activities.
Analyze and report on outcomes, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
Develop and executive filed monitoring plan and Program Implementation Support (PIS) visits.
Prepare case studies, success stories, and lessons learned to inform future programming.
Use info graphics, charts, and dashboards to present project progress and achievements.
Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to understand Dalit community needs and generate evidence for advocacy.
Analyze government policies and their implications for Dalit communities, recommending areas for intervention.
Draft flyers, policy briefs, presentations, reports, and position papers based on research findings to support advocacy initiatives.
Plan and execute advocacy events planned under the project.
Build connections with policymakers, civil society organizations, and allies to amplify project’s impact.
Work closely with Dalit leaders and activists to ensure grassroots perspectives are integrated into research and advocacy efforts.
Incorporate gender-sensitive and inclusive methodologies in all monitoring and advocacy activities.
Undertake any other assignments as delegated by the organization.
Two (2) yearly festival allowances equal to one month`s gross salary.
