Job Summary

Dhaka Xpress is seeking a talented and motivated MOJO (Mobile Journalism) Reporter to gather, produce, and publish news content using mobile devices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for covering news events, conducting interviews, capturing high-quality photos and videos, and creating compelling multimedia stories for digital audiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, research, and report on breaking news and trending stories.

• Conduct interviews with sources, witnesses, officials, and community members.

• Capture and edit photos and videos using smartphones and mobile journalism tools.

• Write accurate, clear, and engaging news articles and social media content.

• Produce short-form video reports for Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and other digital platforms.

• Verify information and maintain journalistic accuracy and ethical standards.

• Meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced news environment.

• Coordinate with editors and the newsroom team to ensure timely publication.

• Monitor social media and emerging trends for potential news stories.

• Travel to news locations as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, or a related field (preferred).

• Previous reporting or content creation experience is an advantage.

• Strong news judgment and storytelling skills.

• Proficiency in mobile photography, videography, and videoshoot .

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Bangla.

• Familiarity with social media platforms and digital publishing.

• Ability to work independently and under pressure.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to factual reporting.

Preferred Skills

• Ability to report live from the field.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when major news events occur.

• Experience with live streaming on Facebook, YouTube, and other digital platforms.

• storytelling techniques.

• Strong networking and relationship-building skills with local communities and sources.

• Understanding of social media algorithms and audience engagement strategies.

• Knowledge of fact-checking and digital verification techniques.

• Ability to analyze social media trends and identify newsworthy stories.

• Experience covering breaking news and reporting under tight deadlines.

• Strong interviewing and source-development skills.

• Experience writing SEO-friendly headlines and news articles.

• Basic understanding of digital analytics and audience engagement.
