Patient care and safety

• Prepare patients for examinations, including administering contrast materials.
• Position and immobilize patients to obtain clear images.
• Explain procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and understanding.
• Monitor patients during procedures and ensure their safety.
• Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols, such as the "As Low As Reasonably Achievable" (ALARA) principle. 

Equipment operation and maintenance 

• Operate and maintain various imaging equipment, such as X-ray machines.
• Calibrate equipment to ensure accuracy and quality of images.
• Troubleshoot and report any equipment malfunctions. 

Image production and record keeping 

• Perform diagnostic imaging examinations to create high-quality images.
• Use knowledge of anatomy to position the patient and equipment correctly.
• Record all patient information, exam details, and results in the radiology information system.
• Organize schedules, supplies, and daily procedures. 

Collaboration and administration

• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Report important information from the scans to the radiologist.
• Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling and answering patient questions.
• Participate in continuing education and quality assurance initiatives.
