Experience:

Exposure in dealing with private sector.
Communication, linkage, networking and negotiation capability with private and public institutions.
Good communication skills in both written and spoken English and Bangla.
Skilled in MS Office software.

Scope of Work:
Project Background: Oporajita: Collective Impact for Just Transition for Women in the RMG Ecosystem builds on the achievements of its previous phase, completed in May 2026. The current phase focuses on strengthening and sustaining Women Cafés in Jamirdia and Gauripur (Bhaluka, Mymensingh), Savar (Dhaka), and Kashimpur (Gazipur).The project aims to establish self-sustaining, women-led Women Cafés as financially viable business and support hubs, providing women garment workers and former workers with opportunities for entrepreneurship, market linkages, peer learning, psychosocial well-being, leadership development, and community engagement.
The Market Development Officer will provide market linkage support, practical mentoring, coaching, and follow-up to approximately 250 women entrepreneurs across four Women Cafés to strengthen enterprise performance and expand market opportunities. The role will also support the capacity development of Café Management Committees and women entrepreneurs, facilitate backward and forward market linkages with suppliers, buyers, financial institutions, private sector actors, and relevant business service providers, and support buyer–seller meetings, Women Café Market Days, product promotion, business formalization, and marketing activities. The Officer will contribute to strengthening the capacity of Café Management Committees to effectively manage and sustain the cafés. Working under the guidance of the Senior Business Growth & Sustainability Officer, the position will also contribute to project reporting, learning, and achievement of enterprise growth and sustainability results.
II. Responsibilities and Tasks: - % of Time
Responsibility # 1: One-to-One Business Mentoring, Follow-up and Market Linkages - 35%
Provide tailored mentoring, coaching, and follow-up support to women entrepreneurs based on their business needs.
Assess business challenges and support entrepreneurs with business planning, pricing, marketing, customer engagement, and risk management.
Develop and follow up on individual business action plans to improve sales, production, and profitability.
Facilitate backward and forward market linkages with suppliers, buyers, retailers, wholesalers, financial institutions, and other relevant business service providers.
Provide market information and facilitate buyer–seller meetings and networking opportunities to expand market access and sustainable business relationships.
Responsibility # 2: Savings Management and Financial Sustainability of the Women Café - 30%
Support regular savings, internal fund management, and transparent financial practices of the Women Café.
Strengthen the Café Management Committee’s capacity in financial management, record keeping, and savings mechanisms.
Facilitate access to finance for women entrepreneurs through linkages with financial institutions and relevant service providers.
Support the Women Café to develop revenue-generating activities and sustainable business models.
Guide women entrepreneurs on product sourcing, packaging, digital marketing, and business promotion.
Responsibility # 3: Women Café Sustainability and Business Hub Development - 20%
Support the committee to develop and implement local market day participation, product display, and other approved income-generating activities.
Facilitate regular committee review meetings to monitor café performance, identify challenges, and agree on practical actions for sustainability.
Support women entrepreneurs in obtaining formal trade licenses and completing required business registration and compliance processes.
Responsibility # 4: Monitoring, Compliance & Reporting - 10%
Regularly monitor and track business performance, including sales, production, and other relevant enterprise indicators.
Support to Senior Business Growth & Sustainability Officer to documents the successful business case, best practices of women cafe, IGA and WFS based savings association.
Prepare and submit timely monitoring updates, monthly report, field reports, success story book and relevant documentation to support project reporting and decision-making.
Support to MEAL team for the documentation as needed
Prepare monthly work plan
Perform any other relevant duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
General Responsibilities on Safety and Security, and Safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults - 5%
