Education:
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Public Administration or another relevant discipline from a recognized university.

  • Professional certification in supply chain management, logistics, inventory management, procurement or asset management will be considered an advantage.

  • Preferably not more than 50 years. The age limit may be relaxed for exceptionally qualified and experienced candidates.

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory position.

  • Demonstrated experience in asset management, inventory control, logistics, administration, procurement, warehouse management or resource management.

  • Experience working with a large non-governmental organization, development organization, financial institution, corporate organization or multi-location operation will be preferred.

  • Practical experience with enterprise resource planning, digital inventory systems, asset-management software or management information systems will be an advantage.

  • Strong knowledge of fixed-asset management, stock control, logistics and resource optimization.

  • Ability to develop policies, systems, procedures, checklists and internal controls.

  • Strong analytical, reporting, documentation and problem-solving skills.

  • High level of integrity, accountability and attention to detail.

  • Excellent leadership, coordination and team-management abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple locations, large volumes of assets and diverse operational requirements.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills in Bangla and English.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and digital management systems.

  • Willingness to travel frequently to ESDO offices, projects, institutions and operational areas across Bangladesh.



Responsibilities & Context:

Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) is one of the leading development organizations in Bangladesh, established in 1988. ESDO currently implements a wide range of development, humanitarian, microfinance, education, health, climate resilience and social enterprise programmes across Bangladesh in partnership with government agencies, United Nations organizations, international development partners, foundations and private-sector institutions.

To strengthen its institutional asset, inventory and resource management systems, ESDO is seeking a dynamic, experienced and highly organized professional for the position of Manager – Asset, Inventory and Resource Management.

Position Purpose

The Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient, transparent and accountable management of ESDO’s fixed assets, inventories, equipment, vehicles, office facilities and other organizational resources. The position will lead the development and implementation of effective asset-control systems, inventory procedures, resource-utilization plans and compliance mechanisms across ESDO’s head office, regional offices, project offices, institutions and enterprises.

Duty Station: ESDO Head Office, Thakurgaon, with frequent field visits

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement ESDO-wide policies, procedures and standard operating guidelines for asset, inventory and resource management.

  • Maintain a centralized and updated digital asset and inventory management system.

  • Ensure proper registration, coding, tagging, classification and documentation of all organizational assets.

  • Maintain accurate asset registers, stock registers, equipment records, transfer records, vehicle records and disposal documentation.

  • Conduct periodic physical verification of assets and inventories at the head office, regional offices, project offices, institutions and enterprises.

  • Reconcile physical assets and stock balances with financial, procurement and administrative records.

  • Monitor the receipt, storage, issuance, transfer, maintenance and disposal of assets and inventory.

  • Ensure optimum utilization of office space, equipment, vehicles, furniture, technology and other organizational resources.

  • Identify idle, underutilized, damaged, obsolete or surplus assets and recommend appropriate action.

  • Develop preventive maintenance schedules for vehicles, generators, electrical equipment, information technology equipment, office appliances and institutional facilities.

  • Coordinate with Procurement, Finance, Administration, Information and Communication Technology, Logistics, Internal Audit and Project Management teams.

  • Ensure that asset procurement, custody, transfer and disposal comply with ESDO policies, donor requirements, government regulations and applicable accounting standards.

  • Support annual budgeting and forecasting for asset acquisition, maintenance, replacement and resource requirements.

  • Establish strong store and warehouse management systems, including stock-level monitoring and reorder controls.

  • Ensure adequate insurance coverage, security arrangements and risk-management measures for organizational assets.

  • Investigate asset loss, damage, misuse or discrepancies and submit recommendations to management.

  • Facilitate internal, external and donor audits related to assets, inventories and organizational resources.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual asset, inventory and resource-management reports.

  • Train and guide designated asset custodians, store personnel, administrative officers and project staff.

  • Promote a culture of accountability, cost-effectiveness, value for money and responsible use of organizational resources.

  • Perform any other relevant responsibilities assigned by ESDO Management.
