Education:
    • Bachelor of Law (LLB)
  • Bachelor`s Degree in Law (LLB)

  • Master`s Degree in Law (LLM), preferably with a specialization in Property Law, Land Law, or Real Estate Law (Optional, but preferred)

  • Bar Council Registration (Required for practicing law in Bangladesh)

  • Diploma/Certification in Real Estate Laws or Land Management (Optional, but advantageous)

  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, especially when reviewing legal documents, land titles, and contracts.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly and effectively to non-legal stakeholders.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to find practical solutions to legal challenges.

  • Technology Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal research tools. Familiarity with land management or legal case management software is a plus.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a highly skilled Legal Officer Land to join our team. This individual will be responsible for handling all land-related legal matters, including property disputes, claims, contract issues, and compliance with Bangladesh`s land laws.

Position Overview:

  • The Legal Officer - Land will be responsible for managing and resolving all land-related legal cases, claims, and issues. This includes providing legal advice on land transactions, property disputes, land ownership claims, and ensuring the company`s activities comply with relevant laws and regulations in Bangladesh. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Bangladesh`s land laws, property rights, and experience in handling complex legal matters related to land and real estate.

Key Responsibilities:

Land Disputes & Claims Management:

  • Dispute Resolution: Handle all legal disputes related to land sales, ownership, property titles, boundaries, and zoning issues. Represent the company in court hearings, arbitration, or mediation if necessary.

  • Claims Handling: Investigate and address any claims made against the company regarding land properties, including ownership disputes, boundary disagreements, and encroachments.

  • Litigation: Manage legal actions involving land claims, including drafting and filing lawsuits, responding to legal notices, and coordinating with external legal firms as required.

Land Contracts & Documentation:

  • Contract Drafting & Review: Draft, review, and finalize land sale agreements, lease agreements, title transfer documents, and other land-related contracts to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Legal Compliance: Ensure all land transactions comply with Bangladesh`s land laws, including title verification, land registration, and property rights regulations.

  • Legal Advice: Provide timely and sound legal advice to senior management, sales teams, and other stakeholders on land transactions, property sales, and any potential legal risks.

Legal Research & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Land Law Expertise: Stay updated on changes to land-related laws and regulations in Bangladesh, ensuring the company`s operations remain in compliance with legal requirements.

  • Government & Regulatory Liaison: Liaise with government bodies, local authorities, and regulatory agencies on land-related matters, including registration, approvals, and legal documentation.

  • Title Verification: Oversee the verification of land titles, ownership history, and ensure that all land-related documentation is accurate and legally sound.

Internal & External Legal Coordination:

  • External Counsel Coordination: Work closely with external legal firms or specialists when needed to handle complex legal cases or when representing the company in court.

  • Negotiation: Negotiate settlement agreements, dispute resolutions, and contract terms to ensure the company`s interests are protected.

  • Internal Legal Support: Provide legal guidance to internal teams on land transactions, policies, and potential legal challenges, helping to mitigate risks before they become issues.

Due Diligence & Risk Management:

  • Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence on land acquisitions, sales, and investments to ensure there are no legal complications or hidden risks in the properties being dealt with.

  • Risk Mitigation: Identify potential legal risks in land transactions and develop strategies to mitigate those risks, ensuring the company operates in a legally secure environment.
