Responsibilities & Context: Job Overview: The Legal Manager (Internal and External Affairs) is responsible for overseeing all legal aspects of the company's internal and external operations. This includes providing strategic legal counsel, managing corporate agreements, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, and maintaining relationships with external authorities. The ideal candidate will be an expert in corporate law, labor law, and real estate transactions, with the ability to mitigate legal risks and provide solutions to complex legal issues in a dynamic corporate environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the internal and external legal affairs of the company, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Provide expert legal counsel and guidance to senior management on matters related to corporate agreements, MOUs, legal drafting, and vetting.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, including labor laws, corporate policies, and industry regulations, as well as laws affecting stakeholders and real estate transactions.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks arising from financial, transactional, and other significant matters, providing timely alternatives and strategies.
- Establish and maintain effective liaison with external authorities, including government and non-government bodies, ensuring smooth handling of regulatory matters.
- Draft, review, and approve company policies, procedures, contracts, and other legal documents, ensuring they comply with relevant laws and best practices.
- Provide legal research and prepare both written and oral opinions on a wide variety of legal issues, anticipating potential challenges and opportunities.
- Represent the company in legal matters such as court appearances, dealings with law enforcement, and other official proceedings.
- Review historical employee files and recommend or take appropriate actions where necessary.
- Develop and manage the company’s annual legal budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and conducting periodic cost-benefit and productivity analyses.
- Conduct training sessions and seminars for employees on various legal matters, ensuring they are aware of relevant laws and company policies.
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned by senior management.
This role is critical to ensuring that the company operates within legal frameworks while achieving its business goals. The Legal Manager will be a trusted advisor to the executive team, balancing legal requirements with business needs.
