∎ Prior experience in community-based mental health programs or counseling preferred.
∎ Basic understanding of mental health concepts and trauma-informed care.
∎ Effective communication and active listening skills.
∎ Compassion, empathy, and sensitivity to cultural contexts.
∎ Organizational and documentation skills.
∎ Willingness to learn and adapt to dynamic needs.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Conduct primary mental health screenings using SRQ-24 and other tools.
∎ Provide basic counseling and MHFA to individuals experiencing psychological distress.
∎ Identify cases and refer them to professional counselors or psychologist of the trauma-center.
∎ Supervise and support community mobilizers in their outreach and case identification activities.
∎ Participate in supervision sessions provided by psychologist.
∎ Attend training sessions on trauma-informed care, lay counseling, and MHFA.
∎ Collaborate with local stakeholders to promote mental health services.
∎ Maintain detailed records of lay counseling sessions and client interactions.
∎ Submit regular reports to the assigned supervisor.
∎ Assist in planning and conducting community sensitization workshops and events.
∎ Support field visits and data collection activities as required.
∎ Take on any additional duties as assigned by the Project Co-Ordinator
