Skills & Knowledge

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with surveying instruments, GIS, and CAD software.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving: Strong ability to analyze data, solve problems creatively, and interpret complex situations.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and communication skills to manage projects and present findings clearly.
  • Knowledge Base: Understanding of mathematics, geometry, physics, and land law and history is beneficial.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.


Responsibilities & Context:

Surveying & Mapping:

  • Conduct surveys to establish and verify legal property boundaries, measure land features, and map land topography.

Data Collection & Analysis:

  • Gather precise measurements using specialized equipment like total stations, GPS, and 3D laser scanners, then analyze this data using software such as GIS and CAD.

Research & Documentation:

  • Research historical land records, legal documents, and survey histories to understand property context and ownership.

Reporting:

  • Prepare detailed and accurate reports, maps, sketches, and legal descriptions of surveys for clients and stakeholders.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with engineers, architects, construction teams, and other professionals to support project planning and execution.

Compliance:

  • Ensure that surveys and projects comply with all legal requirements, zoning regulations, and industry best practices.

Technical Expertise:

  • Provide expert advice and technical guidance on land development, construction, and environmental impact.

Project Management:

  • Coordinate fieldwork, manage project timelines, and sometimes supervise survey teams and junior technicians.
