Educational Requirements:
∎ Masters degree in any discipline
∎ Masters/Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experiences with a background in Development Studies, International Relations, Disaster Science and Management, Information Management, Media and Communications studies, Environmental Management, Urban, Regional, and Rural Development Planning, Geography and Environment, or any relevant field.

∎ 2 to 5 year(s)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Serve as the knowledge management focal point for the project in close coordination with the project manager
∎ He/she will work to capture, develop, promote, and disseminate knowledge pertaining to the programming areas
∎ Develop knowledge, communication and advocacy materials for program visibility as required by the project in coordination with the manager
∎ Write regular blogs, articles, summary/solution briefs with data/ stories captured from field
∎ Conduct knowledge and communications needs assessments for the project to reach internal and external stakeholders
∎ Supports the project manager with weekly/monthly progress reporting, evaluation, studies, research, literature review, preparing annual donor reports, presentations among others
∎ Work with project manager to ensure the learnings coming from the use of the FRMC (flood resilience measurement for communities) is captured and shared with others to enable its wider uptake at national level
∎ Manage content development, maintenance of the Bangladesh Flood Resilience Portal and Facebook page, upload contents, share, and track progress, report to global team
∎ Support the functioning of digital weather board at the Union Parishads, National disaster alert application, support in drafting Bangla voice messages to be delivered to the community
∎ Organize and attend knowledge sharing events, participate in the Zurich Flood Resilience Alliance Knowledge Workstream and Portal workgroups
∎ Read, stay up to date with climate and resilience debates to inform the above activities
∎ Support meetings with the preparation of reading materials, agendas, minutes, and reports (such as weekly team meetings, external meeting, events)
∎ Works closely with the global Knowledge Manager, Communications, and knowledge Officer to ensure critical project data and knowledge are stored centrally in the document management system on SharePoint.
∎ Represent Practical Action in Bangladesh in the Zurich Alliance Knowledge Work group, leading on the development of agreed guidance for the alliance as required (and agreed with manager).
∎ Supports the project manager on a range of project and administrative functions as required.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 18 to 65 years
∎ At least 2 years of professional work experience in relevant field with an understanding of development programming
∎ Professional/Academic experiences in development, research, and/or knowledge management ideally with field experiences
∎ Excellent verbal and written communication and report writing skills both in English and Bangla
∎ Strong attention to details, multitask and prioritize
∎ Advanced user of MS Office
∎ Commitment to development principles and the mission, vision, ambition of Practical Action.

Salary: Tk. 60000 - 63000 (Monthly)
