Job Context:
∎ LEDARS is NGO Affairs Bureau-affiliated NGO working in the southwest coastal region of Bangladesh since 1998. The southwest coastal region is one of the climate-vulnerable areas of the country and people are suffering so much. In this context, LEDARS is implementing different projects in the Sundarbans region with the financial support of a German-based donor agency and recently it has won the Zayed Sustainability Prize 2023. LEDARS is going to appoint a Knowledge and Research Manager for the smooth operation of knowledge and research management activities of the project. This position will essentially be responsible for capturing, preservation and dissemination of knowledge in an appropriate manner.
∎ Duration: Long-term project
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Functioning the knowledge management center in the premises of LEDARS head office
∎ Digital archive development incorporating updated climate change related knowledge, articles, resilience, adaptation, mitigation, environment conservation, green and renewable energy, etc.
∎ Preserve climate and environment related local, national, regional, international law, policy, declaration, agreements, study documents, technology references, international declaration like human rights, child rights, women rights for enriching the KMC's archive.
∎ Ensure appropriate preservation of records, materials and all archiving information in a physical mode and digital format
∎ Ensure knowledge and research outputs are clear, concise, useful in line with the working sectors of LEDARS,
∎ Prepare and produce climate change issue based writings, reports, articles, IEC materials, knowledge collection and management tools as required,
∎ Have good knowledge on graphics design, illustrator, Photoshop etc. and be able to make design of quarterly electronic and printed newsletter,
∎ Create visually compelling and engaging content, including graphics, videos, and written posts, to disseminate project's messages effectively.
∎ Organize session with school and college students on different important issues on climate change, resilient, adaptation, environment conservation etc.
∎ Prepare standard presentation in PowerPoint and produce relevant video documentaries for using to increase awareness of community people,
∎ Linkage and relationship development with different college and universities to make access their information to our knowledge management center,
∎ Implement the research interns and scholarship programs with different universities to avail internship and scholarship opportunities using LEDARS Knowledge Management Center of LEDARS,
∎ Establish effective relationship and linkage with local, national and international knowledge network and alliance for mutual knowledge sharing,
∎ Assist different external and internal team to conduct knowledge generating information, like issue based action research, need based information, baseline survey, monitoring and evaluation,
∎ Extend supports and cooperation to evaluators during internal and external evaluation,
∎ Assist PC and PM in in implementing the project effectively especially in preparing of different periodical reports and in communicating with donor agency,
∎ Support and accompany with donors, journalists, visitors and other stakeholder during field visit,
∎ Prepare case study, event report and need based reports required by organization, donor and potential stakeholders.
∎ Manage organizational social media accounts and page, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn, to enhance our online presence.
∎ Develop and execute innovative social media campaigns to raise awareness about organizational projects and activities, engage with our target audience, and promote our organization's mission.
∎ Maintain and preserve all documents, reports, meeting minutes, photographs, press clipping, attendance sheets, comments, and other similar documents related to the project.
∎ Assist organizational fund raising team by providing necessary data and information for developing proposal, project sheet and project concept note,
∎ Any other responsibilities assigned by the Senior Management/Executive Director.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ At least 2/3 years in senior level management in NGO.
∎ Good knowledge on computer operation including MS Office software and internet browsing,
∎ Knowledge on IEC materials development and demonstrated facilitation and training experience.
∎ Experience in participatory program planning, management, monitoring, evaluation and PRA tools,
∎ Excellent interpersonal communication skills, fluency in spoken and written English is given priority
∎ Creative thinking and a knack for generating innovative ideas for knowledge and research management.
∎ Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Bengali and English.
∎ Proficiency in using graphic design and social media management tools.
∎ Interested to travel in rural area by driving motor bike.
Salary:
∎ Tk. 35402 - 37485 (Monthly)
