Responsibilities & Context:
Providing New Connections: Laying fiber optic cables for new customers, connecting ONUs and activating the internet.
Line Maintenance and Fault Fixing: Quickly identify and splice or connect the lines in case of fiber cable cuts or signal loss (high attenuation).
Field Monitoring: Checking the routes of overhead fiber cable lines in different areas and securing hanging or vulnerable cables.
Assisting Seniors: Assisting senior engineers in the installation and configuration of new switches/TJ boxes in POP rooms or distribution boxes.
Customer Service: Visiting the customer premises and ensuring quick and courteous resolution of fiber or connectivity related issues.
Tools and Material Accounting: Taking proper care of the fibers, OTDR, splicing machines, meters used for the work and keeping an account of the materials used.
