Educational Requirements:
∎ 4-years graduation (Hons.) in Nutrition and Food Science or relevant subjects.
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 3 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Welcoming the caregivers and beneficiaries warmly.
∎ Explain the treatment, prevention, and follow-up procedures of the nutrition facility, especially regular presence and follow-up of the activities.
∎ Explain the importance of hygiene and sanitation in the center and at home (nail cutting, hand washing procedure, and timing).
∎ Conduct health and nutrition education and counseling sessions (breastfeeding counseling, complementary feeding, hygiene, care of pregnant and lactating women, and proper advice to the caregivers and the beneficiaries on the proper way of feeding, especially for children) according to the schedule.
∎ To counsel the caregivers of vulnerable children (severe and moderate underweight) about the necessity of good practices to combat undernutrition.
∎ To encourage caregivers with children with good nutritional status, so that they would maintain the same care all the time.
∎ To conduct adolescent counseling sessions.
∎ Provide support to the Nutrition Site Supervisor and Community Nutrition Supervisor to identify lead mothers and form the mother-to-Mother Support Group (MtMSG).
∎ Conduct the sessions according to the plan and schedule.
∎ Ensure graduation of the groups timely.
∎ Ensure proper documentation (e.g. attendance, bill, session topics, resolution, minutes, etc.) of the sessions.
∎ Follow up and receive feedback on the previous topics of health and nutrition education and counseling sessions.
∎ To identify responsive beneficiaries and encourage others using the positive deviance method.
∎ Follow up on the hygiene and sanitation rules in the center and at home.
∎ To inform the dates and days of the next visit and explain the importance of attending within the due period.
∎ Foster a collaborative work environment where mutual respect among staff is emphasized.
∎ Promptly report any staff management issues to the Nutrition Site Supervisor.
∎ Capacitate the IYCF Volunteer by conducting the OJT.
∎ Use prescribed reporting formats.
∎ Conduct rapid and full assessments according to the program's needs.
∎ To submit a monthly report on the number of sessions that occurred, and the number of beneficiaries attended.
∎ Record findings and feedback of the beneficiaries and their caregivers on health and nutrition education.
∎ Evaluate the improvement of caregivers’ knowledge of health and nutrition-related topics.
∎ To keep a daily tally of the number of responsive caregivers.
∎ Assist NSS to prepare beneficiary case studies.
∎ Report any kind of problems to the Line Manager immediately.
∎ Coordinate and collaborate with Nurse to ensure the proper beneficiary refer from the OTP/TSFP point.
∎ Collaborate with the NSS to assist in the preparation of beneficiary case studies.
∎ To monitor the IYCY activities and prepare action plans based on the findings regularly.
∎ Regularly share the lessons learned with the program team.
∎ Regularly analyze the reports of the IYCF counselling data to identify gaps and take corrective measures.
∎ Maintain coordination with the MEAL team to evaluate program performances and support the PM to arrange lesson learning workshop to set up improvement plan for the future.
∎ To implement other activities, related to the objectives of the technical support unit, as assigned by the Line manager.
∎ Any other assignments were given by the Line manager.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 28 to 40 years
∎ Experience on managing Rohingya refugee program will add value.
∎ Should be well versed on technical aspects like CMAM, IYCF, CMAMI etc.
∎ Knowledge on the local language will add value.
∎ Should have a good observation and analytical skill.
∎ Should have the capability of interpersonal communication skills, especially on proficiency in speaking in English.
∎ Proficiency in MS excel, word, PowerPoint etc. are expected.
∎ Must have good analytical skill.
∎ Must have supportive supervision and leadership skills.
∎ Must have good decision-making skill.
∎ Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
∎ Must have good team building capacity.
∎ Must be self-motivated and able to motivate the field staff.
∎ Must be able to work in camp locations in Ukhiya
∎ Project locations are in remote areas in refugee camp. Staff is expected to live in his/her based location.
