Job Context:
∎ United States Department of Agriculture-funded Bangladesh Trade Facilitation (BTF) Project is offering paid internship opportunities to recent graduates. Land O`Lakes Venture37, a US-based social and economic development organization, is implementing the BTF Project.
∎ The intern will help develop the list of product-wise market entry requirements for Bangladeshi export items and create some HS Code-wise Import-Export Documentary Compliance Repositories. BTF will train the recruited interns to conduct the tasks.
∎ Duration: 3 months (full-time); starting from the first week of October
∎ Learning Opportunities: This internship with the BTF Project offers a unique opportunity and exposure for recent graduates who are preparing to pursue a career in fields related to international trade and development to learn and contribute by increasing their understanding of the trade-related regulatory environment in Bangladesh, trade facilitation, project implementation, etc.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Support to compile mandatory and optional testing and other requirements including parameters for entering the EU and other potential export markets for Bangladeshi agricultural products.
∎ Categorize the requirements based on their importance and prepare recommendations for fulfilling these requirements.
∎ Communicate with public and private sector officials (with the support of the BTF team) to identify product and market-specific export potential and entry requirements as well as HS Code-wise documentary requirements for export and import.
∎ Support the development of a list of regulatory institutions and ministries/departments of different countries involved in the clearance process, including focal points at those agencies.
∎ Review legislations and relevant documents of the Government of Bangladesh to identify the HS Code-specific list of documents required for exporting and importing products.
∎ Support the development of the detailed repository for selected Harmonized System (HS) Chapters and organize the relevant information, which will include the Name of the Document (IP/PC/NoC etc.), issuing agency, issuance stage, legislative mandate/requirement for issuing the document including relevant Sec./Rule, etc.
∎ Any other relevant tasks assigned by the project.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Applicants with proven experience in research/organization/voluntary services in relevant areas will be given preference.
∎ Applicants are required to exhibit excellent command of both English and Bengali, along with the ability to draft written pieces of work.
∎ Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Bengali
∎ Skilled at typing in Bengali
∎ Willingness to look for, learn, and acquire new knowledge, and to exhibit flexibility
∎ Ability to produce quality results efficiently and in time
∎ Basic knowledge of one or more of the related areas: agriculture, international trade, business, and economics
∎ Ability to conduct themselves in a professional and suitable manner, as per the office culture and environment

Salary:
∎ Competitive remuneration (with a minimum of BDT 25,000 per month)
