Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum of 3-5 Years working experience, ideally in an eye/health care/development sector.
∎ Experience of working with government official under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare & Social Welfare Ministry.
∎ A good understanding of eye health care, community engagement, work with Disabled people orgnaisations, maintain strong liaison with Government actors and promote and protect the rights of persons with disabilities and minority groups.
∎ Knowledge, experience and skills in implementing donor fund project, good understanding on compliance issues also have adequate knowledge on disability and inclusion issue will added value.
∎ Good knowledge on computer/technology skills.
∎ SKILLS (SPECIAL TRAINING OR COMPETENCE):
∎ Ability to understand and work with project budgets, forecasts and reports
∎ Excellent communication skills (both oral and written in English and Bangla)
∎ Negotiation and motivational skills
∎ Ability to communicate to staff and other partners in a courteous and professional manner

∎ Ability to follow specific instruction, prioritise multiple tasks, and use judgment and initiative in the course of executing responsibilities

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ In combination with hospital authority IO will take the lead to carry out all the activities set out in the project areas.
∎ Organise training programme for NGO partner hospitals staff on disability inclusion and gender mainstreaming following timeframe chart of the project.
∎ Support to organise training for senior managers, management committee members of hospital partners and Sightsavers staff on gender and disability.
∎ Support to conduct accessibility audits and needs assessment at each hospital for identifying the gaps in physical infrastructure and human resource delivery.
∎ Ensure execution of the recommendations of accessibility audits and make needs-based infrastructural modifications in the primary eye health facilities as per recommendations of accessibility audits.
∎ Organise coordination meeting at district level GO/NGO organizations working with people with disabilities, women, older people and ethnic minority groups to mobilise target groups for inclusive eye health.
∎ Organise targeted screening camps to reach people with disabilities and other marginalised and ethnic groups in close engagement with Disabled Peoples Organisations and other relevant stakeholders.
∎ Organise school eye health screening program at project located districts.
∎ Support to organise district Eye health committee meeting to improve its functionality
∎ Support to organise district Disability committee meeting to improve its functionality
∎ Attend and disseminate information about Sightsavers and its work to different stakeholders in upazila/district/divisional health coordination meetings.
∎ Maintain an up to date district wise project related information both in soft & hard version and ensured that the information collected are effectively used in the monitoring and planning process
∎ Develop case studies, interesting news stories, videos etc. relating to the project.
∎ Promote visibility of Sightsavers works & DPLEH, M (interesting stories, events, etc.) using local media.
∎ Conduct different days like World Sight Day, World Health Day, Autism Day. White Cane safety Day, International disability Day and International Women.
∎ Regularly update concerned programme files.
∎ Accurately record participant data of training participants, meeting, workshops
∎ Provide concise and accurate feedback to Sightsavers' staff when being debriefed on the quality and success of the interviews.
∎ Support to develop IEC materials for awareness raising among community people
∎ Support to prepare monthly/quarterly/annual/periodical/ donors reports

∎ Dhaka Progressive Lions Eye Hospital, Madaripur is implementing a project titled "District Inclusive Eye Care Program.” funded with Sightsavers from January 2016. The aim of the project is to restore, save and protect people's sight in an environment which is inclusive and accessible for poor and marginalised groups, including women and men with disabilities.
∎ Base in: DPLEH Madaripur
∎ Reports to: Senior Admin officer, Dhaka Progressive Linons Eye Hospital.
∎ Contract Period: 14 months (November 2024 – December 2025) with opportunity to extension.
