Educational Requirements:
∎ B.Sc. in Engineering with 5 Years' experience in Institute Management or Diploma in Engineering with 7 Years' Experience in Institute Management Level. CBT&A certified applicants will give preference.

Currently, the country office of Muslim Aid Bangladesh is in Dhaka. Muslim Aid is registered in Bangladesh under the Foreign Registration Ordinance with the NGO Affairs Bureau. Programmes and institutes are registered/affiliated with Social Welfare Department, BTEB, Joint Stock Company under Society Act, MRA and Directorate of Health Services. Muslim Aid ensuring sectoral services to fulfil the pledge of Bangladesh Government in Vision 2021 and SDG.
∎ There is a five years long new project named "The integrated rehabilitation program for ultra-poor slum dwellers in Mohammadpur and Mirpur in Dhaka city and Saidpur in Nilphamari district for Technical & Vocational Education & Training (TVET), in Bangladesh" to enhance 22,100 Urban Slum Dwellers` access to skills training and capacity enhancement for creating livelihood opportunities and contribute in economic development of Muslim Aid Bangladesh Field Office (MABFO) funded by IsDB.
∎ Purpose of the Position:
∎ Under the direct supervision of the Project Director of MABFO, the In Charge of Training Center/ Principal will work for this project with TVET in Bangladesh to oversee the Training Institute.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Strengthen the identity, goodwill and credibility of the MAIT:
∎ Works with trustworthiness and integrity and develop the Values, Vision, Mission and Goals of the MAIT in line with Muslim Aid Values, Vision, Mission and Goals and lead the MAIT to achieve these.
∎ Establish necessary partnerships and collaborations with appropriate academic / technical institutions, government, industry / enterprises / private sector agencies, national & international accreditation agencies etc. for relevant assessment, certification and accreditation.
∎ Carry out social mobilization & community awareness campaigns, advocacy events, organize events on national and related international days and other interventions leading to strengthen identity, reputation, credibility and goodwill.
∎ Set high standards in personal, social and academic achievement.
∎ Represent the MAIT in various forums with guidance of supervisor
∎ Carry out any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
∎ Ensure the effective and efficient Project Management:
∎ Establish and maintain necessary rapport with the Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) and other relevant agencies and lead the MAIT in accordance with policies and guidelines of BTEB and Muslim Aid-UK Bangladesh Country Office Bangladesh.
∎ Ensure timely compliances of BTEB rules and regulation and ensure necessary registrations from Affiliated Authority.
∎ Preparing centre operation plans and other institutional activities
∎ Ensuring adequate training facilities & Marketing for learners' enrolment
∎ Ensure employment of the learners & Keeping centre fully functioning
∎ Proactively seek other national and international accreditations and registrations for institutional growth
∎ Develop and ensure effective and efficient implementation of an Operational Manual in line with the Government of Bangladesh (GoB) guidelines, Muslim Aid policies and related country laws.
∎ Develop and properly implement Annual Operational Plan and Annual Work Plans of all staff.
∎ Practices of Social Inclusion is adhered to during staff recruitment and student enrolment
∎ Develop and manage effectively Annual Budget including revenue & expenditures ensuring cost effectiveness and value for money.
∎ Organize timely necessary audits and ensure proper follow up of recommendations.
∎ Ensure all procurements take place in time, maintaining MABCO policies and guidelines and ensuring transparency, cost effectiveness and highest quality.
∎ Organize timely the meetings of the Management Committee and other critical meetings and ensure follow up of decisions.
∎ Ensure necessary infrastructure and equipment are available and properly maintained, including: training facilities, classes, workshops, resource centre, library, stores, teacher's rooms, equipment / arrangements etc.
∎ Develop strategies and mechanisms for aligning MAIT, its business processes and services with technological advancements of markets both at home and abroad.
∎ Automated mechanisms are introduced and effectively maintained for access control, attendance-salary synchronization, filing, documentation, reporting, database management (including establishing a Job Portal), M&E and MIS, Human Resource Management (HRM), administration and management of finance and accounts etc.
∎ Setting up and maintaining the MAIT Alumnae Association.
∎ Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to gender, diversity and inclusion
∎ Ensure quality assurance of service delivery:
∎ Ensure necessary teaching learning materials for theoretical, practical and industrial attachments are developed, used and updated as needed including: subject wise syllabus, curriculums, session and lesson plans (in accordance with CBT methodology) and presentations, CBLM for each unit of competency, co-curricular materials, earners record and log books, trainee progress charts etc following BTEB guideline.
∎ To ensure high quality teaching- learning and better academic result through effective supervision and monitoring.
∎ To monitor and ensure the students cantered teaching-learning process.
∎ To take lead for development of 'Tech-based' monitoring system and availability of real time data for the management
∎ To monitor faculties' self- preparation, lesson plan and lecture sheet are available during the teaching.
∎ To supervise all activities of the running programs on a regular basis to judge the qualities and encourage all concerned to achieve the goal.
∎ To plan and organized different events and co-curricular activities.
∎ To maintain liaison with government bodies to ensure affiliation, education materials, permissions, approvals and other requirements as when necessary.
∎ To manage the assets (including land, infrastructure, vehicle, etc.) and ensure legal, insurance, audit and other compliances of the asset management.
∎ To establish and maintain an effective inventory system for all fixed assets, supplies, materials and equipment and develop and administer the routine maintenance and coordinate all relevant activities.
∎ All procurements and placements take place in time, maintaining MABCO guidelines and ensuring highest quality.
∎ To communicate with the Management Committee regularly about the needs, successes and general operation.
∎ To plan and host various visit of management, media and others.
∎ To ensure of all kinds reporting timely.
∎ Proactively bring about necessary changes which will lead to improved administration, supervision and opportunity for student learning and development.
∎ Ensure that MAIT is a safe, dignified and secure learning environment for all students, staff and visitors.
∎ Attend events as required for networking and capacity building purpose with guidance of supervisor.
∎ Take lead in organizing, planning, monitoring and programme administration and management.
∎ Prepare necessary reports proposals, business plans, concept notes, progress reports etc.
∎ Ensure delivery of results maintaining excellent quality under high pressure and tight deadlines
∎ Effective communication is maintained and necessary information is provided to prospective students, guardians and stakeholders as needed
∎ All training packages include theoretical courses, practical courses and industrial attachments, Competency Based Training, Competency Based Assessment is properly conducted and learners avail Decent Work
∎ Learners are timely enrolled as per MAIT targets, assessed (pre, formative, summative etc.) oriented and ready for class following BTEB guideline.
∎ Drop-out is prevented but if this happens, seats do not remain vacant but learners are immediately replaced.
∎ Ensure class room monitoring, evaluations, supervision and learning mechanisms are effective
∎ Ensure learners attend classes in time, complete training and maintain discipline.
∎ Learners are assessed, certified and accredited in time.
∎ necessary partnerships and collaborations are set up with industry / enterprises / private sector agencies for industrial attachment / apprenticeships as the need of specific training courses
∎ Participation of the MAIT, its staff and students in all relevant national and international skills development related events /competitions etc.
∎ Prepare all types of report and submit it to concern Management.
∎ People Management:
∎ Recruit, manage, supervise and ensure quality of service delivery of necessary human resources including teachers, resource persons, technical experts, instructors, trainers, assessors and other staff as per MABCO staff Manual.
∎ Ensure all staff Job Descriptions (JDs) are updated, well understood and followed by staff. In this regard, ensure development and follow up of Key Performance Indicators, their Means of Verification and Annual Performance Objectives.
∎ Ensure professional development & career planning mechanism for staff and all staff are trained on and maintains MABCO rules, regulations and values
∎ Ensure all staff carry out their roles and responsibilities with due diligence and demonstrate professionalism in attitude, conduct and behaviour and ensure staff development plan is in place and functional.
∎ Ensure all students are oriented Muslim Aid values and relevant rules & regulations and all staff contribute to the success of the MAIT
∎ Responsible to ensure necessary systems are in place for staff management, including development, review and follow up of staff work plans, conducting weekly progress review meetings, and annual performance assessments.
∎ Effective mechanisms are in place to identify managerial and service delivery related problems and proactively resolve issues in time.
∎ Ensure necessary reward and punishment system is in place and effectively implemented and promotion of positive culture which tangibly reflects the values of MAIT.
∎ Take a leadership role in mentoring, coaching and training of the academic and management staff for achieving high quality of technical education.
∎ Maintain effective communication to keep the staff, students, and parents properly informed.
∎ Provide necessary leadership, mentor, coach, supervise, and manage the staff and students
∎ Responsible to ensure team members are appropriately trained, supported and have access to resources regarding issues that are identified and actioned in accordance with the safeguarding policy and procedure.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Has a good network among national TVET actors i.e. district level BMET representative, I/NGOs and training institutes.
∎ Good knowledge of different training methodologies including competency based training, assessment (formative, summative) and development of standards, curriculum and TLM.
∎ Experience in development cooperation with donor agencies and I/NGOs is an advantage.
∎ Excellent working knowledge of computer applications like MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point).
∎ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (Mandatory).
∎ Proven skills in representation.
∎ Operates effectively and efficiently also under stressful situations and tight deadlines.
∎ Demonstrated ability managing complexity and prioritizing multiple tasks. Experience and skills in coordinating with Government agencies, other partner organizations, Donors, and with local authorities. Strong knowledge of the TVET and skills development sector and system in Bangladesh; is abreast with current developments
∎ Good command over English in both speaking and writing.
∎ Ability to grow and expand business in line with strategic priorities of Muslim Aid
∎ Communication and presentation skills, for example; ability to represent Muslim Aid in meetings with donor effectively and ability to engage with private businesses and the corporate sector
∎ Research and analytical skills, numeracy, budgetary and financial reporting skills.
∎ Ability to manage a multitask workload and be flexible to altering priorities in order to respond to changing demands.
∎ Ability to live and work well with others in a team situation.
∎ Strong administrative skills and ability to effectively use technology and follow departmental procedures
∎ Must be able to familiar with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point).
