Job Context:
∎ Responsible to : In-charge of Training Centre/Principal
∎ Responsible for : Improving livelihoods of the Urban Ultra-poor in Mirpur and Mohammadpur in Dhaka and Sayedpur in Nilphamari District (TVET)
∎ Tentative location wise position (20 positions in 3 locations)
∎ Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM). Location: Mirpur, Mohammadpur, Saidpur (3 positions)
∎ Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (RAC). Location: Mirpur, Mohammadpur, Saidpur (3 positions)
∎ Computer Application and Maintenance/Operation. Location: Mohammadpur, Saidpur (2 positions)
∎ Mason and Rod Binding. Location: Saidpur (1 position
∎ Driving with Auto Mechanics. Location: Mirpur, Mohammadpur, Saidpur (3 positions)
∎ Consumer Electronics. Location: Mirpur, Mohammadpur, Saidpur (3 positions)
∎ Welding. Location: Mirpur with Mohammadpur, Saidpur (2 positions)
∎ Industrial Sewing Machine Operation. Location: Mirpur, Mohammadpur, Saidpur (3 positions)
∎ Purpose of the Post: To provide technical Trade courses/ Occupations as per plan and schedule
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Academic:
∎ Plan actual course of study by developing modifications for several levels of academic ability and previous achievement.
∎ Develops and presents lesson plans by using a variety of techniques, including lectures, projects, exhibits, field trips, audiovisual, computers, and the internet.
∎ Conduct training class/sessions by planning and developing course curricular according to the guideline or Competency Standards/course curricula and other training and learning materials.
∎ Monitors, assists, correct, and grades student results by preparing assignments and tests for preparation and homework considering formative and summative assessment;
∎ Ensure inclusive training delivery through engaging all learners actively.
∎ Support to In-charge of Training Centre/Principal to communicate with BTEB for the summative assessment and ensure assessment facilities.
∎ Maintains order in the classroom by counseling students with behavioral problems; consulting with other professionals where there appears to be evidence of learning disabilities, drug, or alcohol abuse, problems of social adjustment, or child abuse.
∎ Provide extra care for week students/slow learners.
∎ Prepare case study when necessary.
∎ Intercepts deterioration in achievement by counseling students with academic difficulties; drawing on the institute system's resources for additional academic assistance.
∎ Ensure job placement of students graduated from the trade, Ensure the students presence in classes.
∎ Health & Safety:
∎ Maintains safe, secure, and healthy educational environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
∎ Record keeping:
∎ Keep students all information and provide to management as per need.
∎ Keeps parents informed by maintaining records of academic performance, attendance, and social acclimation; reporting on all elements of student development at parent-teacher conferences, both regularly scheduled and as-needed.
∎ Regular updated, trade wise inventory, keeps individual asset record including tools & equipments, training & education materials, training raw materials to ensure their proper utilization.
∎ Maintain the practical equipment.
∎ Others:
∎ Motivating students and provide career guideline.
∎ Updates job knowledge by attending faculty meetings; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
∎ Enhances Institute reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
∎ Maintain Child Protection policy and community approach. Maintain networks and liaison with related local government offices, other institutions, workshops and industries.
∎ Follow up for irregular students.
∎ Ready for work as per management decision. Provide support to Management for students enrollment.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 2 years' experience in the relevant trade as an instructor.
∎ Competent in NTVQF Level-1 for the applied occupation.
∎ Competent of Level IV (Trainer part) will be an added advantage
∎ 3 years' experience in related field.
∎ Skills:
∎ Standard Candidate should have deep understanding and practical skill on the relevant trade
∎ Standard Candidate should have clear understanding and practical skill on Computer Office Applications (MS Word, Excel, Power point etc.) and Internet/e-mail.
∎ Candidate should have the ability in classroom management, Laboratory Management, Verbal Communication, Resolving Conflict.
∎ Candidate should be Self-Motivated & Objective. Strong in Presentation Skills, Motivating Others, Listening, Collaborative Teaching, Confidentiality and Dealing with Uncertainty.
