Responsibilities & Context:
1. Education & Professional Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or related field.
Professional ICT certifications are an added advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+/Network+, CCNA, Microsoft, ITIL).
Training in Health Information Systems (HIS) or Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) is an advantage.
2. Age: 25 to 40 years. (Flexible in private sector)
3. Relevant Experience
Minimum 2–5 years’ experience in an ICT/IT support role, preferably in a hospital or healthcare environment
Experience supporting clinical and hospital information systems
Experience working in a 24/7 operational environment is an added advantage.
4. Additional Requirements
Willingness to work on-call, night, or weekend shifts
Ability to respond promptly to ICT emergencies
Continuous learning and adaptability to new health technologies.
5. Technical Competencies
Installation, configuration, and maintenance of hospital ICT infrastructure
Strong knowledge of networking (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, switches, routers)
Administration of servers, databases, and backups
Experience with Hospital Information Systems (HIS), EMR/EHR, Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), Radiology/PACS
Strong understanding of data security, confidentiality, and patient data protection
Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, medical ICT equipment, and peripherals
Knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity systems
6. Key Duties & Functional Criteria
Ensure continuous availability of ICT systems supporting clinical and administrative services
Provide timely technical support to medical, nursing, and administrative staff
Maintain and secure patient data and hospital records
Monitor system performance, security logs, and network uptime
Support integration between clinical systems and medical equipment
Maintain ICT inventory, documentation, and system manuals
Assist in ICT policy development and compliance with health regulations
7. Knowledge of Health Regulations & Standards
Understanding of health information privacy and data protection laws
Familiarity with health ICT standards (e.g. HL7, ICD, data interoperability standards) is an advantage
Awareness of cybersecurity risks in healthcare environments

Excellent communication skills (ability to support non-technical clinical staff)
