Job Context:
∎ Reducing Public Health Risks through Promotion of Integrated WASH Services in Cox`s Bazar District until May 13, 2021

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Lead good hygiene practices and effective community engagement, through improving knowledge and changing the attitudes and behavior of the targeted communities.
∎ Develop and ensure longer term sanitation and hygiene promotion continues and support the development and adaptation of different methodologies.
∎ Develop monthly, quarterly and annual work plans and budgets for Hygiene Promotion and Community Engagement.
∎ Coordinate hygiene education and sanitation promotion activities using SLTS – 3 Star approaches at School.
∎ Assist the Team Leader in overall planning, budgeting, implementation and monitoring of the project.
∎ Prepare different report, case study
∎ Conduct meeting with Teacher & SMC for sustainable hygiene promotion system established at School level.
∎ Assist & capacity building for facilitation skill development of WASH promotors & WASH assistant
∎ Establish and maintain relationships with UNICEF Cox’s Bazar Office in relation to reporting of Hygiene promotion.
∎ Guide and assist WASH committee in community mobilization and sanitization for WASH activities.
∎ Facilitate and supervise weekly hygiene awareness session in school and public areas in project areas also provide technical support for WP through WASH committee in Mobilization for Hygiene and Sanitation campaigns.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action/WASH in school.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
∎ Design BCC/IEC materials & hygiene promotion with MHM training materials and set up training action plan.
∎ Conduct hygiene promotion and monitoring activities in Community & School in coordination with WASH team and MEAL team,
∎ Lead assessment of key public health risks in view of the integrated community project activities;
∎ Develop and ensure proper implementation of context-relevant data collection tools (qualitative and quantitative) in collaboration with WASH Engineering team, MEAL and other sectors.
∎ Liaise directly with communities, local institutions and local authorities on hygiene issues as well as other agencies operational in targeted area. regularly to ensure coordination and effective implementation of activities
∎ Promote community led total Sanitation (CLTS) and Hygiene promotion through awareness creation and establishment and maintenance of functional Community Based Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion structures
∎ Develop a community disease awareness system at community/institutional level and liaise with all Health center In-charges to monitor and report on prevalence of WASH related diseases.
∎ Conduct basic trainings and refresher trainings as well as extend guidance and technical support to the Community based Hygiene and sanitation Promotion structures
∎ Perform other relevant duties as required for the project as well as the organization.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Practical work experience in WASH sectors with WASH focusing with humanitarian and SLTS Approaches.
∎ Medium in English (written/verbal)
∎ Team management- Ability to work under limited supervision - Dynamism - Good report writing ability - Computer skills
∎ Experience to work WASH assessments, identify gaps, needs and develop Action plan at each school.
∎ Experience to facilitate SLTS through PRA approach.
∎ Ability to form/reform Student brigade & Support to functioning student’s council.
∎ Ability to build strong communication with SMC, Student council/ Student brigade & teachers.
∎ Experience to good communication and collaboration with Education department, cluster meeting and others WASH actors.
∎ Experience to prepare MOU at School level for declaration of 3 star approach and well understanding National WASH standards.
∎ Strong communication skills, used to speak in front of an audience and able to work dynamically with children and adults in school.
∎ Work experience with local communities, children, adults and vulnerable people.
∎ Experience in community mobilization and participation.
∎ Ability to work in a team, interpersonal skill and diplomacy
