Responsibilities & Context:

The Playgroup Homeroom Teacher (PG HRT) will be responsible for fostering a nurturing and engaging environment for young learners, encouraging their growth through play-based and inquiry-based teaching strategies in line with the IB PYP curriculum. The teacher will guide students in their early years of development, promoting curiosity, creativity, and collaboration in the classroom. The successful candidate will work in a vibrant international school setting, collaborating with a team of dedicated educators to support the holistic development of each child. We prioritize candidates who bring a strong understanding of early childhood education, a commitment to student-centered learning, and experience with international curricula. 

Job Responsibility

  • Design and implement age-appropriate, engaging activities that foster play-based and inquiry-based learning in alignment with the IB PYP philosophy.

  • Encourage exploration, creativity, and curiosity in young learners to promote cognitive, social, and emotional development.    

  • Create a safe, nurturing, and supportive classroom environment where students feel valued and confident.    

  • Effectively manage the classroom, ensuring an inclusive and respectful atmosphere for all children.

  • Prepare lesson plans that are tailored to meet the diverse needs and interests of young learners.

  • Integrate creative methods, including storytelling, art, music, and sensory play, to promote active learning.

  • Observe and assess student progress through formative and summative assessments.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of student performance and communicate regularly with parents and guardians.

  • Work collaboratively with the school’s teaching team to ensure the consistent application of the IB PYP curriculum. Focus on the overall well-being of students, ensuring their social, emotional, and physical development.

  • Participate in school events and parent-teacher meetings to build strong relationships with the school community.
