Responsibilities & Context:

Value Creation & Commercial Performance

  • Lead and implement value creation initiatives across warehousing, transport, and integrated logistics operations.

  • Identify margin improvement opportunities through cost optimisation, pricing discipline, productivity gains, and asset utilisation.

  • Drive EBIT improvement programmes aligned to strategic and operational priorities.

  • Establish clear value metrics and track benefits realisation for all initiatives.

Commercial & Customer Value

  • Partner with Sales and Operations to develop commercially viable customer solutions and bids.

  • Support contract negotiations, renewals, and pricing strategies to ensure risk-adjusted profitability.

  • Lead post-contract reviews to ensure expected value is delivered throughout the contract lifecycle.

  • Develop value propositions that differentiate the 3PL offering beyond cost alone.

Operational Excellence & Productivity

  • Work closely with Operations to improve throughput, labour productivity, route optimisation, and capacity utilisation.

  • Champion continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, process optimisation).

  • Identify automation, digitalisation, and system-enabled efficiency opportunities.

  • Support standardisation of processes across sites and business units.

Strategic Planning & Business Partnering

  • Act as a strategic business partner to senior leadership and operational heads.

  • Contribute to annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning with a strong value lens.

  • Provide fact-based insights to support investment decisions, capex proposals, and business cases.

  • Support integration and value capture from new customers, expansions, or acquisitions.

Governance, Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop robust dashboards and KPIs covering cost-to-serve, margin by customer, and operational efficiency.

  • Ensure transparency of performance drivers and early identification of value leakage.

  • Promote disciplined governance around value initiatives and accountability for outcomes.

People & Capability Development

  • Build a value-focused culture across the organisation.

  • Coach operational and commercial teams on financial acumen and value-based decision-making.

  • Lead and develop a high-performing value creation or commercial analytics team.
