Responsibilities & Context:
The incumbent will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and ensuring the efficient management of the Underwriting Department. The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lead and oversee all underwriting operations in accordance with the Company's policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Formulate, review, and implement underwriting guidelines, policies, and risk management strategies.
Ensure sound underwriting decisions through proper assessment of medical, financial, and mortality risks.
Supervise and coordinate activities relating to Claims, Reinsurance, and Policy Servicing & Corporate group operations.
Work closely with the Product Development and Actuarial teams in designing, developing, and reviewing life insurance products.
Evaluate product pricing and product rating to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
Maintain effective relationships with reinsurance partners and manage reinsurance arrangements.
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and internal control policies.
Lead, motivate, and develop departmental staff to achieve operational excellence.
Prepare management reports and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
