Educational Requirements:
∎ Preferably Master's Degree in Sociology, Economics/ Development Studies/ Business Administration or any other relevant field.
∎ Minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant work experience work at Programme Director level/Head of Programme in any national / international NGO including sound expertise on management of budgets, monitoring, compliance with donor regulations, and coordination with different development cooperation and local partner organisations.
∎ Proven work experience with national and international NGO/Business bodies/ Industrial Units.
∎ Sound Working experience at the leather sector development project/ programme from Decent Work angel would be a high advance for the candidate.
∎ Proven experience on project proposal development, Log frame donor reporting.

Job Context:
∎ OSHE is a specialized labour foundation based in Dhaka that promotes Labour Standards, Decent and Green Jobs in Bangladesh. We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced person at our oganisation to lead an EU funded project at the leather sector.
∎ Position: Head of Project
∎ Location: Mirpur, Dhaka
∎ Deadline for application: 31 January 2023
∎ Start date: Tentatively from 1 March 2023 or upon agreement
∎ Contract duration: Fixed-term contract max. until February 2026
∎ Overview of the Project:
∎ The project entilded "Building a Sustainable Leather Sector in Bangladesh" is a three-years lonf project going to be implemented by Bangladesh Occupational Safety, Health and Environment (OSHE) in the leather sector in Bangladesh. The action is focused would on strengthening civil society in Bangladesh by creating a CSO platform in the leather sector for occupational safety and health (OSH) and environmental protection, bringing together trade unions and CSOs in a participatory process. It aims at a sustainable leather industry which would emerge from active engagement at different points along the chain- right from the grassroots with different CSOs, workers and trade unions, to the high rungs of government, international institutions and employers and brands.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Prioritize, manage and coordinate timely implementation of the project in accordance with organizational plan.
∎ Prepare quarterly workplan and activity budget; and effectively lead the project team on timely implementation of activities at filed level as per project objective and deliverable out-puts.
∎ Supervise all staffs under the project on day-to-day basis;
∎ Enforce all due diligence tools of the OSHE foundation and all other donor guidelines in relation to implementation of the project at leather sector.
∎ Act as project controller in relation to project activities, budget planning and control of budget consumption;
∎ Facilitate / Coordinate networking and alliance-based action at national level with other likeminded CSOs, actors and platforms (where OSHE foundation involved with) towards building a sustainable leather sector in Bangladesh.
∎ Facilitate, liaise, communicate and follow up with the Project Manager of the project lead organization based in Dhaka.
∎ Prepare progress reports of the project for the senior management of the organization and Project Coordinator;
∎ Ensure that project implementation is responsive to target communities and partners and aligned with EU core values, strategic plan and guiding principles;
∎ Any other work as assigned by Management of OSHE in relation to project.

∎ Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
∎ Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
∎ Fluency in English and Bengali.
∎ Proven skills in projects report writing and financial reporting in cooperation with the finance officer.
∎ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
∎ Experience in networking, representation, coordination with stakeholders & key actors on different levels.
∎ Sound IT skills

Salary:
∎ Salary: Tk.1,50,000 (One lac fifty thousand Taka)
