Job Context:
∎ SAJIDA Foundation is seeking to recruit Head of Program, Climate Change and Disaster Management (CCDM). The candidate will lead on coordinating CCCDM’s climate change projects and programmes and making significant, reputable and high-profile contributions to the international agenda for climate change adaptation and mitigation in the health, agricultural and environmental sectors. This position will be located at its headquarters in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
∎ The role of the CCDM Head will be to facilitate CCDM in reaching its goal of being a recognized leader in the area of climate change and the development and dissemination of climate smart solutions. The job holder will be responsible for coordinating CCDM’s efforts to carve out a niche and make significant, reputable and high-profile contributions to local and international agenda for climate change adaptation and mitigation in the health, agricultural and environmental sectors.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Update and lead implementation of the CCDM strategy on climate change that both capitalises upon the organisation’s current expertise and paves the way for new donor- and/or private sector-funded projects and programmes.
∎ Identify relevant dedicated public/private climate funding mechanisms, as well as new national/regional partnerships, and coordinate the securing of large-scale, multi-partner and multi-stakeholder projects and programmes in the field of climate change adaptation and/or mitigation.
∎ Represent and promote CCDM globally/regionally so as to raise Sajida’s profile, foster the development of new and strategic partnerships and business opportunities and ensure the organization's alignment with the global climate change agenda.
∎ Implement an internal project monitoring and review processes.
∎ Coordinate staff capacity building and establish an internal support system to enable staff to integrate climate change into current and future projects and programmes.
∎ Facilitate the publication of scientific research results as well as project/programme outcomes and impact in international, scientific, peer-reviewed journals.
∎ Work together with Sajida’s communications team to generate greater global visibility for CCDM’s contributions to climate change adaptation and mitigation.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 33 to 48 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ At least 15 years of demonstrated senior management experience, including in personnel, project and financial management.
∎ Highly developed leadership and planning skills.
∎ 15 or more years’ experience in development work.
∎ Experience in representation in regional or international meetings.
∎ Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in at least one of the subject matter areas of the Programme (climate change health, ecosystem based livelihoods, nature based solutions, environmental sustainability) with a good understanding of the others.
∎ Demonstrated experience with the raising of external funding and liaison with international donors.
∎ Demonstrated experience with the development of policy and the provision of policy advice.
∎ Demonstrated effective communication, networking and coordination skills.
∎ Demonstrated ability to operate and represent effectively at national, regional and international levels.
