Responsibilities & Context:
Kitchen Operations & Management:
Direct food preparation, cooking, and plating standards during service.
Inspect ingredient freshness, quality standards, and workstation cleanliness.
Oversee kitchen equipment maintenance and schedule repairs when needed.
Menu Planning & Financial Control:
Design creative menus, daily specials, and recipes that balance taste and visual appeal.
Manage food inventory, track stock levels, and place supply orders.
Control food costs, monitor budgets, and negotiate with food suppliers.
Staff Leadership & Training
Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff performance.
Create staff schedules, manage rotas, and assign daily tasks.
Enforce strict health, safety, and hygiene regulations across the kitchen.
